Pretty simple question; How many and which language(s) do you speak?

I'm 19, from Hungary (Europe) and I speak 3 languages: Hungarian, English, German.

 

Only english

 

Dutch, English, French and very basic German. So voted 3.

 

Im 18 im from Canada i speak 2 languages 1. English 2. French Canadian.

 

Ahh i love it how canadians speak french because of historic events! .

 

tbh i hate the language and only speak it because if i didn't i would have a hell of a hard time getting any kind of work.

 

Yea understandable, same thing over here btw. French is the 2nd language & is needed for work since half of the country speaks french.

 

Is French or English more important on the area you live?

Haha, I can understand dutch somewhat myself, but I cant speak it german and dutch have some similarities, those are the things I understand

French for sure(everywhere in quebec) some places in ontario(mainly the bordering towns and such) Also quite a few people in new brunswick are french.

 

I'm from Kosovo and I speak Albanian and English.

 

Fluent in english, french and latin.
3-4 years of high school/secondary school level german but I don't think i'd be good enough to live comfortably in germany..too many gaps in knowledge.

Unfortunately only English. I used to be great at french in school, but i moved away and it took 5 months to get into another school by which time it was hard for me to pick back up. I would love to learn a second language though, possibly Russian or Japanese.

 

My language skills are embarrassing(American). I can comprehend Spanish, but I'm by no means fluent. I'm in the process of learning Portuguese (Brazilian). I'm more inclined to learn that language and may head to Brazil this summer.

It's very hard to learn languages in school; I speak german cause I was put into a german language school (where I had to learn every subject in german) and I studied abroad (English + same as with german school). I wouldn't be to speak English good at all if I learned in school, basically all thank goes to my parents who gave me this great option, otherwise, I wouldn't be here responding to you now

For a vacation, or planning to stay there? Also, are you learning portugese with private teacher, or? Also, easiest learning is when you will go to Brazil and be forced to use the language

 

arabic and english are my primary languages ( fluent in both).

 

Indeed. I'm learning via a classroom program and would go for only a few weeks as an immersion.

 

Oh, I see. Sounds nice; Whereabouts in Brazil are you going, any clue yet? Also, are you going alone? Being alone (or at least without people who speak your language) helps you learn faster. It took me like 2 and a half or so years to get my english knowledge from nothing, to what you're reading now.
