Simply that I will only clone the design. Say, for instance, you wanted a clone of Facebook.com's design...I will clone it, but will not code the social network nor perform any additional coding work. Just the design

Well, for example, if you are looking to have a site design similar to, let's say Sythe. Now, it's a vBulletin theme, but I could provide the design in HTML format (haven't tried, probably could).

And yes, I could make the links work so that, say if you wanted Sythe.org design, and clicked on the 'Donation Center' link, it will take you to the Donation Page (but since it's a clone of the site, the functionality of the page would be dead).

I could do an example site, if you'd like. Nothing too big, though. Unless you'd like to use my service

 

I'm interested in this, once cloned though what steps would be need to be taken to get it functioning?

I'll see what I can do with that. I'll clone the home page for sample. And as far as phishing, users can always edit the design afterward and use it for the wrong reasons. I can't really control that.

Not plagiarism. Site cloning, with the addition of new content / removal of existing content (which renders specific to that website) is not illegal. COMPLETELY copying it (verbatim, source code and all) is illegal.

I'm simply providing a cloned design, with enough changes from the real thing that it's legal.

 

How is that example coming along? Interested to see what this would be like. If I like the result I might try a gold site or an art site to sell my work.

 

is this possible? i mean, i am not a lawer, but it's kinda hard to believe that it will be legal when you just remove something

there was an interesting case; a woman made a recept book for cooking, a few ppl have copied the pictures of that book, and they have put it on the internet. the woman later figured it out, went to the police, and the ppl who made it had to pay a bunch of money, that's why i guess it's even not legal when you just take parts of something

 

To qualify to not be plagiarized the site has to be changed so much that it cannot be recognized as the original, so chances are if you do this someone is going to report you for plagiarism because you can claim all you want but you are plagiarizing by stealing the likeness. Changing boxes and stock images around will still qualify as plagiarism, so if you do get reported don't say you weren't warned.
