Why do so many people seem to get hacked

I never go on untrusted sites I change my password every month and have jag/ bank pin but with all these people getting hacked its making me abit wary about getting hacked myself

Why is it people seem to get hacked? Is it stupidity or is there actually a way to do it to even the most secure of accounts?

people get hacked because the download "ddos and spin generators" and blame it on other things i.e. bots.

 

14yo buys gold --> Loses gold to hacker / scammer --> hacker / scammer sells to reseller --> reseller sells to 14yo kid.

Hackers will do anything to hack simply because they earn cash. Stupid kiddos are looking for free bots, pin generators and so on which are mostly infected by some keylogger, it makes the circle round.

Misinformation is the largest factor in regards to people getting hacked. If everyone took the needed precautions, and weren't so naive, I'm confident there would be barely any incidents.

People are stupid and are careless with their information, it's not just sites and downloads that steal passwords it friends or people who claim to be friends, I have had a few try to do it to me and fail.

 

Bots have been the cause of people getting hacked before but mainly those random ones someone new finds and decides to go ahead and download anyway. The other ones you listed are other reasons though.

 

- Phishing e-mails.
- Phishing Sites
- Insecure botting programs

3 main reasons in my eyes.

 

youngsters are to naive when it comes to "ddos tools" "free membership generator" etc, i think thats 70% of the people being hacked the last 30% is just stupidity

 

Agreed, It's usually (in my experience) a corrupted program which steals your info (if it sounds too good to be true, it is), A java drive by (always be cautious when you allow java applets; I've heard they are quite dangerous and stealth) or any sort of Phish, where you enter your info into the wrong place (always be sure it's a legit site).

 

With JAG you are protected so its almost impossible to get hacked

 

Alot of young kids also download youtube links, such as "item dupers" and "gold generators".

 

It really isn't that difficult.

People either let someone on their account and they change the information or drop stuff, or they download/get tricked into downloading malware.

 

Carelessness. If you open a link and it asks to run java, especially if it's posted on sythe, it's likely a JDB. Never a good idea. Ever.

 

I had someone added on skype and he could always recover my runescape account. I asked jagex to change all details and they did so, I also reformatted my computer and everything. He said there was a bug to do it which he never told me about. Good thing he never took my items/gold though.

 

been playing for 9 years never got "hacked", probably these "hackeds" kids are keylogged because they download shit.

 

People who use a RAT could trade the items over from your pc, thus no need to know the answers to JAG ;/

People mostly get hacked because of JDB's.

 

Generally it's caused by not being cautious.
