Last 6 months of RS Market Thread Performance

I thought it'd be interesting to share.

Few things to note:

• Some points are extrapolated
• Includes any thread merges
• Does not equate to monetary performance
• Does not include all major traders
• Not essentially correlated day-by-day

Where did you get the data from?

 

Near the end, when RSUltimate was inactive on Sythe, is mainly extrapolated, but all the data is from a part of the RSUltimate marketting campaign. We wanted to see how each thread design/title we had impacted our views and sales.

It wasn't necessarily a big climb. It only appears so because there's data points missing near the end, but yeah, as of today he has had the most views within a 6 month period.

 

Interesting. What thread titles had the most impact?

 

Well from the results, it probably wasn't "Clearance Sale"


Some that made big impacts:

• Mentioning your pricing, if it's low
• Giveaways/Free offers (big jump for a while)
• Easily noticeable symbols such as ௵
• Daily specials of some sort

 

this is a pretty sweet graph, you should put something like this up constantly like every month or few months to just see how the major gold sellers are doing activity wise on their threads

There is an obvious pattern shared by all of us near the end with the exception of Arcus (banned). Would you say this pattern is directly correlated with sythe forum activity as a whole, or is there more to it? The points where views climb rapidly and views come slowly are very similar between all of us.

 

Sythes activity plays a huge part in this as it depends on the amount of people viewing the gold section. Arcus' ban really affected his 6 monthly period if this month is included on the graph. Anyway grave, what's with all the bullet-points all of a sudden, it's rather formal.

 

Pretty much this affects the total number of views we receive, but seeing as there is a 20,000 view difference between the higher and lowest viewed, there are definitely many other factors.

The reason the pattern is shared near the end is because I got lazy, and most of it is estimated in between. The first half is fully accurate, but unfortunately, the second half, especially due to my absence, is just filling in the dots in between. Also keep in mind that the graph is not to scale, so it's very possible that it looks more like __ than / near the end. I'd like to split up the factors.

Macro Factors

• Total views of the gold market
• Participation of other smaller sellers not included

Micro Factors

• Thread titles
• Prices
• Methods offered
• General customer return rate
• Dependency on Sythe

For you, I would assume you have less views because most of your sales, or at least a sizable portion, are from PlayerAuctions directly. Also, bumps are a huge factor. When customers are required to post a form to order, it helps immensely. I think I left this out earlier. This is the single biggest factor and it's why RSUltimate introduced Sythe-exclusive offers.

Thanks. I'll keep better track starting February 1 and actually pinpoint factors better. This was just an experiment out of me having no life.

I've already done something similar. I made it to where people have to go to our website and ask for Syed to get the link to the video. It increased our visits by 30.84%.

Another impact is bumping your thread every 8 hours. We only do it once or twice a day but that's because we're closed at night.
