I think that's the name of the server, someone i am subbed to on youtube made a video saying that it was hacked so just to notify anyone on here that plays on that server DONT RUN IT.

Hello everyone,

Seeing as there has been no form of formal action taken in order to restore order within the users I feel like maybe I should.

So let's start off with what happened, the website initially went down due to supposed 42GB/ps DDoS attacks on the server which appeared to instantly take the site down, later on I heard news that the site had been defaced and someone had obtained our database. Now, I did speak to Ollie about this and questioned if this was valid, and I received the response that it was simply an old 2006scape database and there was nothing to worry about however I did ask Ollie if he could force all users to need a password change, which he didn't do/ignored me on.

From what I can see, there has been no REAL evidence of the database being stolen, from what I have seen Ollie say the website was exploited through a mybb plugin bug that was from before he took over the server and he says he has installed a fresh install of mybb however he has told us that around 800 users passwords were compromised, however I personally do not believe this at all, I believe that the Database was stolen.

In regards to staff members being banned, I have no idea how this happened, I am assuming that one of the other staff members were compromised but I am completely unsure and for some reason I appear to unable to remove the bans on them which really doesn't help much.

As for the security/safety of the site as it currently stands, I have NO idea how safe the site is or the client in all honesty, from what I can see the client was moved onto the PRSC server which as far as I know is safe and secure so I can't see any issues with that but I did have reports of users being infected by the client last night, so please everyone to be on the safe side do a virus scan and once this has been done/you have been found clean, change any passwords you may share with your PRS06 account and then secure your PRS06 account, preferably through another computer that has not accessed PRS06 in the past 24 hours. In my personal opinion I would think if anyone has a downloaded client that is over 48 hours old that it is safe and usable.

To anyone who was hacked or had items stolen during the "hackings", there is nothing me or any other staff member can do, I'm sorry.

Before you all spam and ask me what is going to happen now, is the server dead and finished, no it's not. This was a small hiccup and we will carry on going strong, I just hope this never happens again for the servers safety and your own personal safety.

its projectrs06 and it's no longer hacked. Their has also been a rollback to back before it was hacked. It is fine to run now.

Was it just accounts from their server that were compromised, or did the client include a keylogger (?) to steal real rs info?

I really want to play '06 but I've heard some shady things about it lately. And I don't trust java plugins
