Pokemon X & Y - Generation VI

I just watched the live stream. Doesn't appeal to me to be honest

 

Not too sure about the spriteless direction its headed in, but I suppose we all fear change. I trust Game Freak will do a good job, plus that deer legendary looks badass!

 

The Pokemon look awful though and I dislike the new view. But yeah like you said, we do fear change and it's not the like the other Pokemon games we grew up loving. Hopefully when released, many former Pokemon players will still enjoy it.

 

Just watched the trailer.

The new Pokemon look gross.

Nothing beats the classics.

 

I thought no one bought the new pokemon games but I guess not! I haven't played any newer then fire red. I still enjoy playing it sometimes though.

Its strange how far they have came since red and blue..

 

New legendary names released.

 

Few things I like and dislike

Like:
3D, only because its a change and should be something interesting.
Fights look better.
Names aren't colours.
New game at last.

Dislike:
Shitty hat again -.-
Doubt you can customize the character which loads of people asked for and would be sick.
Legendarys look like fags
More baby pokemon
Only on 3DS
Predictable next pokemon game title "Pokemon Z" I would place £50 on it.

Nevertheless I will once again be picking the fire starter, for the fifth time, Mudkip was the only water starter I chose.

 

You can turn off the 3D on the 3DS, and the 3DS is coming on to 2 years or so old now (released in Japan in 2011), and the DS is discontinued, so why would they make the new game on the DS? It would be a dumb move.

Customization of your character isn't going to affect the gameplay. As for the legendaries I personally think they look quite cool, but each to their own.

Where are these new baby Pokemon you speak of?

 

Obviously I knew it'd be on the 3DS, but I don't own one that's why I dislike it lol, I'm gonna get one though as my birthday just been the estimated release date, also I know it wouldn't effect the gameplay, but it is NOT hard for a company of GameFreak's designers to simply put it in and it would be cool and many people have suggested it Nintendo and GameFreak, I think the Reindeer type legendary looks alright, but the flying one looks shit full stop, and look at Cheespin for a start and also with every new generation there seems to be more and more baby Pokemon, you could argue the games target audience is kids, but there actual proper fans are mostly teenagers and older, so maybe more orginal, badass and "what the f**k is that?" type pokemon would be awesome.

The last time more Baby Pokemon were added was 2007 when Diamond & Pearl were released. That's 6 years ago.

I thought 'What the fuck?' when I saw Froakie. Chespin looks very much like a Pokemon, and not out of the ordinary.

 

Doesn't look as good I've stopped playing pokemon since the new generation before this one. I loved the 4th Generation and everything after that was something that never interested me.

 

Updated the OP with Nintendo's official artwork and such. The screenshots do look better than they did in the Video, perhaps because of the stretching. (Not a fan of the XL consoles upscaling).

 

The new Pokemon and names are getting ridiculous.

It almost looks like they slam their heads on a keyboard a few times and just take whatever doesn't have too many vowels in a row.

Look I did it. New pokemon right there. Sounds like some sort of squirrel pokemon. Maybe normal/water type. Make it brown.

 

While I think the legendaries names are a bit ludicrous, i'm sure it'll just take some getting used to. I remember my Dad taking the piss out of the names of the first Generation when Red & Blue came out here.

 

Did they run out of colors/gems and had to resort to using letters haha? What gaming platforms is this one coming out on?

 

I mean, I love pokemon. As a little kid I loved all the games and the shows. Now I just play all the games as they come out, and I've played all of them to date(the handheld ones only with the exception of Pokemon Stadium).

I just wish there was a better way for them to keep the franchise lively other than adding new Pokemon that lack creativity.

The original three generations were perfect, and it's just going downhill with every new one.

 

3DS exclusive.

 

Many former fans will enjoy the games, not all let nostalgia rule their minds. If you want to go there about looks in the other post, I hate plenty of the designs from gen 1 and 2 looking back.

The likely reason people say those look the most like 'Pokemon' is because well they are the originals. There isn't anything that really dictates what a Pokemon should look like.

Completely new pokemon 'suck' to many people because they don't look like pokemon supposedly, yet pokemon that look closer to originals(Emolga is considered a new Pikachu) also 'suck' to those same people because they are seen as copies. That's proof there that someone who thinks like that will probably never like a new pokemon.

Using letters doesn't mean they are running out of ideas. The X and Y seem to represent axis/dimensions since they are heading to the 3DS after all. >_>
