I also got 4 warnings, all from KMJT.

This doesn't mean KMJT is a bad mod, but if they hand out warnings for the reason in the OP, they should hand them to everyone, which means also the big gold sellers with huge threads and traffic who hang around here.

It happens all the time.

 

To be completely fair, besides the OP being completely annoying and abrasive, reporting them never does any good. Whenever I do report them a mod will do the report and say something along the lines of 'This is borderline spam, it's okay.' and nothing is ever done about it. So I eventually gave up because the rules are applied unevenly a lot of the time.

I could go through the last 5 pages of their threads and find numerous infractable posts, and it has been done before to prove an a point but it won't do anything.

 

PM them.

Also, users like 'R2P' have been infracted for excessive bumping/spamming too, there is no bias

 

So with that reply, you agree with my OP

If I have to PM them, so does everyone else

so start handing out warnings and infractions to everyone, not just the people that dont hand Sythe thousands of dollars to stay on the good boy list

I find that hard to believe considering the amount of times they do it in a given month would have lead to them being banned more than once by now

 

Eh, I used to bump more often than 24h and a mod told me I could delete the previous post and rebump and when I did that he infracted me, lol. This happened 2 years ago or so but I never wanted to bring that up, it was just a normal infraction which lasted for 1 month and then gone.

 

It's a warning. You'll live. Also, when i'm MMing the guys post on my thread, I ALWAYS quote their posts and state what the skype name I'm trading from is, purely for security reasons. If it's making sythe that bit more secure when it's for purposes for that, I can understand, but when it's simply 'added your msn' or 'brb 10 mins teatime lolz' I fully understand the infraction.

I can see that they have. Obvioulsy not every single one is noticed, mostly just those that are reported.

 

It's silly to punish people for using the forum to communicate with their customers.

 

its not just "low grade people" getting them did you not read the thread i posted earlier. Was almost identical to this one except it was a big name gold seller throwing a fit over it and not a "low grade" person. was a huge discussion before you ever joined Sythe.

Hell a mod himself admitted that not all of them had been reported because he can see the ones that have...

Fact of the matter is, with the amount of times people like Grave or r2p have done this, they would have been banned several times over...

And like said above, its silly to infract us communicating with our buyers in the first place. The OP was about making the phrases mentioned in the title infractable as well since they are the exact same thing.

 

I find it rather funny how you used my thread as an example, considering I've never actually asked anyone to post on my thread or posted acknowledging any single person on any one of my threads. So much for that brilliant research of yours...

I would like to mention I've actually posted something similar before regarding this, http://www.sythe.org/denied-suggestions/1505253-bump-rule-tweak.html, and I was told quoting SuF "Abuse the system like everyone else does and you'll be on the same footing."

So at the moment it's up to the mods discretion to decide what constitutes as spam. So sadly, unless they make it less vague and specify what "spam" is, you can't really complain in my opinion.

 

Read the OP, I was addressing the phrases in the title of this thread and using your thread for THAT example...

Just to clarify so others dont get confused like this guy, the point of this suggestion is to have the phrases in the title be infractable since they are the same thing as excessive bumping, or acknowledging an order..
The users don't need to say they are talking to you now or that you are doing the order now because they already know this obviously

From my conversations with mods the phrases you are suggesting are generally allowed. However, it's always going to be up to the mods discretion what constitutes as spam. So just because the majority would allow it, don't complain when the one mod does give you an infraction/warning for it.

Obviously it would be nice if they made it less vague and specified what "spam" is, but from my denied suggestion and from what I've been told; it isn't going to happen. Sorry to burst your bubble.
