Going to the movies with a girl

So this girl who i'm taking to the American equivilent of a highschool "prom" in a few months is coming with me to see Life of Pi on Sunday. We're going to the formal as friends and we're just hanging out on sunday to celebrate that fact but i'm not sure she likes me. Shes cool and i wouldn't mind dating her but i wouldn't care if she didn't like me in that way. This would be the first time we're hanging out alone. What do i do if she makes a non-obvious move? Like yawning and putting arms around me or touching my arm or commenting to me every 10 seconds? I Don't want to make anything awkward so i'm not gonna pull any moves but just watch the movie and see how she plays it.

My question is what advice should I do if I get the feeling shes hinting me and wants me to make a move?

As a teenager, if you ask a girl to the movies and she says yes, you're in. If you asked her to whatever the equivalent of a "prom" is, you're in. This is usually the case unless you have been badly friend-zoned. Although if you are this deep in the friend-zone you should be able to tell by now. However, on the day, try joke around more, be more flirty, touchy and such.

My advice if she does that is to go with the flow, if she puts your arms on you then keep on with her game, if her feelings are too obvious then try to flirt on her a bit too if you like her

OT: If she hints she likes you, take advantage of the opportunity given to you. I'm sure she wont let you hit it on the first non-formal "date," but see how It goes and update us after you watch your movie. Good luck!

 

More often than not, it is just you over-thinking into the event. Just go out and enjoy the movie! If she does want to have a little more progression with you after the movie, then you're in luck; she likes you and you can consider having her as your girlfriend.

 

The number one suggestion I can say is DON'T RUSH. I have always just played it cool don't make the moves just be her friend. Now its another story if you know that shes being flirty then start steadily bringing up the pace of the game. NEVER give her the D in the first month If you would like to be with this girl her respect for you will be phenomenol. That and if she's the kind of girl that tells her friends everything you will be in the right place if y'all ever do break-up.
