$75 Donation Rank Perk

The ability to Lock and Unlock your own threads.

Matthew Just take 20 minutes to make the new usergroup a lot of market people would find this tool useful. I beleive that high-donators shouldn't have to donate more to get better things but that they should be rewarded continually for their choice to help support sythe.org

Even if every 6 months another feature was added onto a donation tier or a new perk was added it would make the whole donation system a tonne more appealing and rewarding.

Make a $75 donator tier that allows you to change your own thread titles.
Make a $125 Donator Tier that allows you to remove the "Last edited" messege below the OP post. (For cleaner and easier readability).
Make a $175 Tier that allows an extra line of 15 characters below your usertitle specifcally for a website or url link.

Please give this some thought or put it on the back burner before going "Don't feel like it; denied"

Changing your thread is a mod power. I'm not sure it can be granted to a user without promoting them to staff. Plus even then problems can pop up if someone is running a scam or something and can just change the thread title if that had something to do with the scam.

 

Mod powers. This has been suggested before, and was denied. Leaves to much to chance.

Support for this, Deathsnova, It's your first clever idea I ever seen, that'll definitely help Mods, which would be able to spend this time on reviewing scam reports instead of locking our threads

I like the idea of new powers/ranks at more frequent donation interval

 

Gaining mod power through donations are on the DNS list.

Doubt it would be implemented however nice it may be to us donors.

 

On Hackforums you can pay $15 for VIP and get to lock/unlock your own threads as well as a bunch of other stuff. Why can't they alter it and create a new usergroup where you can only change your OWN thread.

Because HF uses completely different forum software to Sythe. Sythe uses vBulletin, HF uses MyBB.

 

You don't 'pay' sythe for the perks, you donate and they are given as a... thank you
If Matthew decides to give out new donator entitlements then it shall be, however I don't think asking is what he or other admins want.

 

There's nothing wrong with politely suggesting a change or addition to the current donator perk system. n4n0 made a big thread on possible higher donor perks which was somewhat successful.

 

I hate to disagree, but I believe that some people actually just purchase the donor status to have those perks. And I do believe some more perks should be added. So I support.

How about only being able to lock / unlock your thread? But no changing of messages etc for safety reasons?

changing titles makes it hard to catch scammers

most people rely on the threads they did business on for some proof

Say someone has a thread that says "buying gold $$/ mil" Once the person buys a sufficient amount they want and decides to charge back, they could edit their thread instead to say selling gold causing complications when trying to report the person. This would be a lot worse in account sales than gold and items as it allows hiding evidence much easier. All except the website perk give scammers better methods to hide evidence.

 

I believe the current perks and ranks are fine as is, there's no need for other perks. Although a 75+ donator rank would sound pretty cool.

These are mod powers, and sythe runs on vB so we'd automatically get other staff perms. The current system is ok, it never takes more than a day anyway. There is no need, therefore no support.
