my eBay experience part 2

Put my First generation iPad for sale on eBay 3 times, get attempted phished/scammed 3 times. Find my other thread here.

Step 1: Start off with an elaborate back-story with no loose ends. I can't ship the ipad to him; gotta ship it to his misonairy parents in nigeria right? How come SO many misionairies specifically in Nigeria want a first generation iPad?


The last guy asked about the condition of the iPad randomly for no reason too; i think its a mind game to make it seem like a real buyer.

Oh and im pretty sure its the exact same guy who bought it a few days ago. As soon as i emailed him saying if your the Prince of nigeria you can piss off he said he didnt want to buy it anymore. lol.






I'm so sick of this. They are just wasting my time! I'm not sure at this stage if they actually want to scam my iPad or just take down my eBay listing 50 times. They are going around hacking peoples accounts to do this too; because they always ask we talk in private email so nothing gets traced and it's always an ebay member from 2005 or 2008, i doubt they've been waiting 5 years just so there account looks old enough they can scam a kid.

Thank god no, i qualify for free listing every time. I wonder if they are trying to sell an ipad too so they fake-buy every other listing that's on there. Also; Why do they elobrately ask i ship through fedex or some random international posting company that we don't have here in Australia? Why don't they just tell me to ship it through ScamBro's (because you can't ship lithunium batteries through normal postage of course)

 

This shit happened to me over PayPal. Tried to sell sell a pair of Jordan shoes.

Dude started texting me, gave me an address to ship it to his brother in Nigeria. Sent me fake ass paypal emails as well saying the money had been sent.

Reported the emails to PayPal.

 

Try trading on Amazon.

 

I've had the same trouble, and am currently in a dispute with PayPal, as this time, i shipped to an address in America for £200, the person received the item, and charged back while i sent PayPal all the relevant details they still refunded the guy so im now down £200. I've eventually told them they can either close my eBay and PayPal account and wipe the credit or fight it out in court.

 

I find that if you indeed get scammed on ebay, you must be a retard, no offence.

 

If anyone from nigeria wants to buy/sell you something it is a scam. As soon as i see that country in an email or something i just delete it and ignore them.

 

Just sell on Craigslist. eBay and PayPal have so many fees anyways it's annoying af

 

It's so annoying! Is nigeria to scamming people like amsterdam is to marijuana? Do the police not care about it? Is nigeria's GDP scamming kids over ebay?

I'm not putting it back up again gonna give it to my brother.

 

There's a reason amazon is more successful than ebay
Just list it cheap and good condition and some kid will buy it

 

Everyone in Nigeria must want iPads and Jordans. Out there in those villages they must get wifi now. I have heard of people shipping like boxes of rocks to people when they buy stuff. It's pretty crazy.

 

LOL. Go to Nigeria you see 1000s of kids wearing Jordans and playing on their iPads.

That thing you said about people shipping rocks is hilarious, do they seriously do that?

Next time adjust your listing settings to not include international shipping, You'll thank me.

 

This is strange, as I've sold 2 laptops and an iPhone this past 2 weeks on eBay, and not had one problem. People must just love trolling you everywhere.

 

Maybe cause we're in England and people love us so much and decide we deserve no greef what-so-ever.
Unless Deathsnova is English, that'd be a bummer.
