I don't see how selling a program that steals Spotify premium codes is ok? I'm almost positive premium is $10/month. Somewhere down the line someone is getting stolen from i'd imagine (same concept as why pin sales are not allowed). Unless I am missing something?

There is nothing wrong with Spotify itself.

 

KMJT, people get them for free all the time. I agree with you it's basically scamming a company, or in another term the same thing as a pin line.

 

The bot finds phone numbers which you enter on a partner (of spotify) site. You then enter that number and connect it to your spotify account.

 

Who's phone numbers? Please elaborate how it isn't stealing from anyone. And what is the partner site?

It uses Sweedish phone numbers, so like if you have a cellphone number with them you get free spotify basically. I believe if you enter a number after it's been redeemed you can redeem it again to a different account.

 

So it is like unlimited trials? Say a specific phone number was grabbed and coincidentally the person who actually owns that phone number wanted his free trial; would he still be able to get it as normal?

 

Yes and the person using his free trial would probably have theirs suspended which is why most have a TOS stating so.

 

I still feel like it is stealing from the company since it abusing their system to not have to pay the monthly premium cost. Open to any other mod opinions though.

 

Implying this is the first time we've heard of such a thing.
Implying a Sythe moderator didn't dominate the market in doing something like this for RS membership.
Implying tons of members don't get away with shit like this because evidence against it is "inconclusive."


You guys should figure out if you want to be strict or lax. Obviously in this case the person was honest enough to state how he's getting them, but in my opinion if you're going to be strict on him, you should also begin enforcing it when it's blatantly obvious someone is obtaining something illegally and selling it.

List of shit that's obviously obtained similar to this:

• Cheap ass steam accounts (sometimes it's reselling, but the original source is always a hacked account if its super cheap)
• Minecraft accounts (people bruteforce these like crazy, usually goes for 50 cent per account in bulk)
• Any VPS where the person states might go down (people card these or have a list of hacked servers)
• Memberships that cost less than 20M (no possible way to profit off this unless you get it free, which means illegally)

 

We can't assume unless the people clarify, which in this case the person did (selling a program that obtains the codes). If you see anyone else advertising that they obtain anything illegally please report the thread but we can't assume everyone is unless they state it themselves or there is adequate proof.
