Opinions & thoughs on Skatopia?

My big bro went there last weekend, his car got literally fucked up by some drunk dudes. I think that place has changed so much during the years... It used to be great place to go and watch skateboarders but its turning into crazy shit now

Thats the way its ALWAYS been. They dont call themselves 88 acres of anarchy and have warning signs posted for nothing. I mean in almost every picture there is a decimated car in frame ... in almost every video there is a belligerent drunk.

It was always crazy shit.

EDIT: I went there during some festival in '09 during my first ever roadtrip. I saw a fight and a guy get cut with glass, a car was destroyed and lit on fire(dunno whether they bought junk cars to do this with or what, judging by your story maybe it was a random fuckers car). EVERYONE was drunk. It was a bunch of over the hill punkrockers acting like they were kids from what i gathered, i had a fucking blast.

 

Never been, I don't live up that way. I used to go to the Warped Tour, though. I haven't been since 2004, though. It sucks now IMO. My older brothers went to it every year from when it first started (95) up until a year before I stopped going.
