What would you do with $10k??

Sorry if I'm in the wrong section, I'd like you to move if so.

Okay, so if you had $10,000 that you could spare with no problem.. What would you do with it!? This is just $$ you could spare and possibly something you could use to even profit from.

1.Invest in RS?(Merch, stake, buy rank in dicing clan)

2.Buy something in real life??

3. Go on a trip??

Just wondering what you guys would do?? Because I've been giving it some thought)

 

I should not invest it all in something like runescape it's not safe too tbh. U can merch gp but profits are not good atm >;< , I would buy myself a nice car tbh.

Lol, don't invest in RuneScape. Stick it in a savings account or something, not much you can do with 10k really.

Use it to pay for college and in the near future for rent.

But yeah if it was $10k I had leftover I would build a new PC for $2500, get an ultrabook for $1500, that makes $4000. Wait for the new quadcore cortex a15 tablets, buy one of those for $750 or so. Buy the iPad 5 for $600 and iPad mini 2 for $450. That makes another $1800 making the total $5800.

Would buy a 1080p SMART TV for $1000 and wait for the Samsung Galaxy S4 ($700 or so). Makes another $1700 -> Total 7500$.

Would spend 800$ on a 2560x1440 27" screen and buy a better sound system for my PC for like $400. Another $1200, makes 8700$.

Spend the leftover $1300 to get sick website hosting, android playstore rights, look into apple store rights and some other random stuff.

Would be really nice to have all the stuff above although I'm happy with everything I have right now.

 

Then in 5-6 years all that stuff will be worth shit and become old, wise investing my friend.

 

I'd probably just stick it in a savings account for my future. University isn't cheap and I might fancy a new car in the future.. I wouldn't spend it straight away that's for sure

I think OP meant if you really had to spend $10k because it is leftover. Or if you won $10k but needed to buy products for it straight away.

If it was just $10k sitting on my bank account I would just keep it there to pay for college/rent/sports.

But yeah that stuff wouldn't be worth much anymore after 5-6 years.
Then again if I would buy a car it would also cost me loads. Insurance is extremely high because I'm a 19 year old driver with a few weeks experience. Would really cost me a few 100$ a month without counting gas prices (1.78€ per liter).

I could buy an oldtimer which are road tax free and can be insured for like 20€/month as they are seen as secondary usage. Would put it under my dads name or something.

For example something like this costs like €2000 and because it's build in 1987 you pay no road tax. Has to be 25 years or older.

 

Buy a nice computer, get an ipod, a phone, and save the rest for 5 years until college.

 

Well I absolutely wouldn't invest it in Runescape or anything like that. I'd either save it or make some good investement (not virtual)

 

Yea, I see what you mean JJ, I have a very nice luxury truck. I'll have it probably the rest of my life. Close to paying it off, only a year old.

I like your idea though. I have a college fund with around $50k in it, so I pretty much got college paid for.

I guess I could save the $10k for a down payment on a house. That's be very nice, and even save some of it for utility bills and such
