Notifications.

I just noticed I have 4 infractions (all expired now) but I didn't recieve any PM or anything telling me I had them. If someones being punished shouldn't they be told they're being punished? Otherwise, how would they know they're doing something wrong? It's like a cop writing a ticket but not giving it to the person.

 

Users are notified via PM when infracted, but there's a glitch where if the mod doesn't put in a reason when giving the infraction, it doesn't send you a PM.

 

I have never gotten a PM for a infraction and I have gotten around 7-8.

 

Despite being a reason involved, I've never been notified of infractions.

 

Back when I was a bad ass rebel I used to get lots of infractions but I was never notified of them.

Somethings not working with the system, and a punishment doesn't work if the person you are punishing isn't aware of it.

 

Do you mind if I test an infraction on one of you guys? I'm fairly positive it's because the mods aren't filling in the "reason" part of the infraction, but idk :c

 

I've gotten an infraction that's still current, never got a PM, nor a response from Dave when I PM'd him explaining my reasoning behind why I shouldn't have been infracted (he was the mod who infracted me). The only way to tell if you're infracted is to go to your profile I believe, which is a little stupid.

You don't have a "reasons" field when I try to give you an infraction... that's odd.

 

I know for a fact mods can give reasons on my infractions. Try mine if you want.

We figured it out. I was right when I said they have to put in a message for you to get a PM, and several mods say they never use the message box; they just let the name of the infraction speak for itself. So either we're all going to start putting messages so you guys get the PMs, or make it STILL PM you even without a message. With that, locked. But I'm going to have them look into why you don't have a message box, mage, that's really odd.
