For what I want, its all I need. Its at the point where adding things to it will add no difference to how I use my computer. As I mainly use my macbookpro. :p

It would be 6.9 if I didn't use both my HDD and SSD.

Wanna OC that i7 3770k, and IDK why the HECK my SSD gets a 7.8 it's a Corsair Force 3, it's abit old but it's same as Crucial M4 which gets 7.9..
I don't take WEI seriously, will update after I OC my i7(if I need to)

Unless you get over a 4.5Ghz stable overclock on the i7, you will NEVER see a 7.9 for your processor.
Also, your SSD is not quite on par with some of the other SSD's available, which have faster random-read and random-write speeds, as well as marginally faster transfer speeds

if he got a good 3770k then over 4.5 will be a breeze. still waiting to see how my 3570k clocks. -.- selling some old xbox 360 games tho so should be getting a new cpu cooler soonish
And yeah, Corsair 3 is a really good SSD, it's a bit slower then others on the market but does that rly matter? its a quality product still :p

I want 7.8, I heard it's impossible to get 7.9 without liquid nitrogen cooling or getting two Xeons not sure but that's what I heard..
Sad my SSD was the same as a Crucial M4 in terms of price.. so I went for it, people told me it's 550MB/s read 510MB/s write, which is even moar than what Samsung adved of their 840 Pro.. Should've done some research before..

you won't hardly notice the difference between it and other SSD's, so don't beat yourself up over it :p Samsung kinda under-sells their SSD's.. they tend to perform better than advertised, but where they most notably perform best is their small-file random read/write speeds. This is where they get their 7.9 windows 7 rating.

also, after double-checking myself I've found that you need 5.6Ghz+ for a 7.9 index in windows 7 with an i7 hexa-core, and 5ghz+ for a xeon setup

    good luck!

These are my specs on my laptop.

Im just wondering if anyone could give me tips on how to improve it. New graphics card Ect. I use it for just about everything. Editing, gaming, youtube. If anyone could give me any advice to improve my computers life, specs and speed would be much appreciated.

Money isn't really an issue so if any parts could make it better or just anything in general to make it a better laptop just give me a pm or post.

@Shred you shouldn't really upgrade any other parts than RAM/HDD. As you already upgraded RAM to 8GB I wouldn't bother getting more. You could buy a SSD though, 128gb ones are on sale for just 90$ sometimes.

    My desktop, 2 years old
    i7 860 @ 2.8 ghz
    8 gb 1333 mhz ram
    Radeon 6950
    64 gb ssd / 1 TB HDD / 500GB HDD
    [IMG]

Keep in mind Windows 8 goes until 9,9.
On windows 7 I scored around 0,5 lower on everything but higher for my SSD.
