    'I Support'

Suggesting to remove that as a rule which allows for any user to be infracted for posting that within this section.

Some suggestions simply require an 'I support'. Some people may not know what else to say, but genuinely do support that said idea. May act as a limiting factor, causing suggestions that are infact popular and warranted to seem not so well received, since people are unable to simply post 'Support', leading them to not post anything at all.

I agree, I have been infracted for this when I first joined Sythe and was pretty confused I just generally liked the idea and had nothing else to say about it.

I've got no idea why "I support" can get you infracted, but "bump." is totally fine.

    'I Support'

    From Moh's thread:

How does saying I support further advance a topic of discussion? It doesn't and is therefore useless to say. When will a person just need to say 'I support'? Simple fact, they won't. Their support is irrelevant if they have nothing constructive to add or change about it, because we don't need 100 people just saying 'I support' on a topic. Just because 10 people support it doesn't mean that it is a good suggestion, and you're just going to end up clogging up thread with people just saying 'Support'. Again, how does that advance a suggestion's discussion? Is that not what this forum is for? To come together as a community and form, mold, and discuss suggestions and their relevance to the site?

Also there is a huge difference between bump and support. If the OP bumps a thread then they wish for it to be seen, but someone just posting support doesn't do anything.

Agree, maybe each suggestion thread should have a poll so that people that genuinely wish to just support the idea can vote in the poll, while people that want to provide more detail to their standpoint.

A poll with 'I support' / 'I dont support' would suffice for this. No need to remove the rule.

    'I Support'

somebody posting I support for posts is really no different than someone going into the music section and posting a music video on the thread, or going here http://www.sythe.org/pokemmo/1517180-how-many-different-pokemon-your-pokedex-caught.html and posting 1000, or going here http://www.sythe.org/pokemmo/1517070-rarest-pokemon-you-have-caught-so-far.html and typing pikachu or going to the video section and posting a random youtube video. There are several sections which have equivalent spam and I'm sure the suggestion section won't be spam filled with 2-3 suggestions being suggested every day. In the end it doesn't even matter whether people support the idea or not if it is a good suggestion it will most likely be implemented if it is a bad suggestion it most likely won't at the moment you are relying on maybe 20-30 people's opinions and not the whole forum because having to post something besides their support deters them.

tl;dr infractions shouldn't be handed out for simply typing "I support"

I still think the rule should be made harsher. A poll on each suggestion with "I support/I don't support" gives across this message - any further discussion on the thread should be constructive criticism or a detailed opinion and nothing less.

People are gonna spam every single suggestion just to get the post count.

I support as well, and there is a valid point that Bump on your thread and I support are one in the same when it comes to suggestions

If the rule was removed, then some users would take advantage of it and say "i support" in all the threads on the first page.

This pretty sums up my opinion. Who really cares if some people get a bit of post count in the suggestions forum also, in addition to the countless other places they can spam safely? Post count doesn't do anything, its just a number that some can lord over others with their epenis.

This is a much better suggestion than removing post count in the suggestions forum.

Because you could just put "I support" on every thread in suggestions, not caring whether it gets approved or not and get like 10 posts.

No support... If you like a suggestion, then there's a reason that you like that suggestion or think it's a good idea. Therefore you can type if after "I support".

How dare you steal my idea! Lol.

    No support unfortunately, the only way this would work is by removing the Post Count. I wouldn't mind have the PC removed honestly, but then you are left with two outcomes;

    1. Users wont care about looking in the suggestion forum anymore (Especially those who are just looking to get a post count)

    Or

    2. It will become a new SF in a sense that users will just go through posting "Support" On all the topics on the front page like mentioned before.

So, its either take away the rule and the post count, or leave the post count and just use polls to allow users to select Support or no Support.

I already suggested this on a previous thread
