I'm trying to get a full understanding of the safety or danger in botting in runescape nowdays. If you bot please post below whether you've ever been banned on runescape for botting, and how long was the ban for?
    Thanks :)

Honestly I've been botting for over 2 years now and have used many softwares such as powerbot nexus rsbuddy epicbot and all those without a single warning/ban.

Yeah this is the case with me, i botted all the way to 99 mining as well as many other skills, but never even a hint at getting caught, however there seems to be a lot of stories of recent botting related bans?

I've botted 99 cooking, firemaking and prayer within the last week and a half. :p no sign of a ban.
Bot smart, I change scripts every now and then and chat ingame when I can.

I've botted about 6,000 hours with injection/reflection bots. Received ~10 bans.

I've botted ~3,500 hours with RiD on my main accounts, earning 15 99s on my main, and 99 fletching on my mule. I also have botted ~350 hours hosting other people's bots earning 99 firemaking, magic, and fletching. Haven't had any bans with RiD.

This is interesting, so you think there's a lot of difference in ban likelihood, depending on what bots you are using?

I bot and was never banned for botting. I am currently botting mining on iron ores as LRC isn't safe atm and woodcutting with ivy on another account, both like 14 hours a day.

Would changing between scripts on the same skill make a difference?

I have botted a lot... 35 mil in rc and 110 dung just to name a few. A lot of bans are going around and post are been made of the bans, firstly never bot on something you are willing to lose, I did it on my main and with it I came out on top with a maxed account in combat and only 5 skills not 99.

Secondly use paid or vip scripts, they are normally much better then the leacher/free scripts on most bot sites. RID is the best, it is worth the money if you want to do it on a main.

And bot smart, making a mule account to mine essence get 10 levels so wear some armour use a set of clothes bronze with something of value in members. Dont dress like a bot.

Some tips, but in the end runescape is on the decline, since EoC.

thanks for the tips :) yeah, i think it's pretty obvious when you see a bot, as a player you know who are bots on the whole, and if you don't know that they are bots then i guess they are botting smart

Botted around 400m xp in total I guess (on 3-4 accounts) + farmed around 700m gp with 4 mules. Done with mostly Rsbuddy, but also some Simba and Powerbot. Never had any ban.

I didn't bot 'smart' just 24/7 suicided, even on my main, never had any bans. I did play legit for around 1 or 2 hours a day tho.

    Hope this helps :).

wow that's quite a feat! Pretty impressive, i must say i would expect that kind of botting to recieve bans, but i guess either the bots are better than i imagined, or jagex are worse...

Just dont bot if you dont want to risk your account dont do it at all there is always a risk wanna know why because jagex does not allow bots so dont do it. Takes the fun out of the game anyways.

Yes, I have no doubt about that. Certain botting methods have flaws and vulnerabilities that can be exploited by Jagex to do mass bans.

Now, just because Jagex doesn't do it on a regular basis, doesn't mean it's not possible.

If you would like to read into some interesting debates about this between Exarctus (Nexus Developer) and RiD (Robotz in Disguise Developer), you can do so here: http://www.robotzindisguise.com/forum/showthread.php?951-botting-101

Start where Exarctus first comments, then scroll through for the responses from RiD and Exarctus. There's a lot of interesting information there.

The formatting might be messed up for banned users, but it should read fine :p
