Would this be a good idea?

I recommend a vouch forum of Sythe instead of the current layout. To put it simply. They need to rework Sythe's forums into a vouch marketplace where you are not allowed to buy over let's say 1b unless you have at least 100 vouches, this would keep scammers at bay seeing as they have to go through with legit trades before working there way up to scam. They should only do this vouch rework on the high priced threads like account sales, name sales, and large quantity gold sales. Anyone care to voice their opinion?, I think it's a good idea and maybe someone could even help me out?

 

I'm not sure 100 vouches is feasible, it took me well over a year to get 80. I think it'd be more of a deterrent than anything.

It's the traders responsibility to make sure they're not scammed, selling 1B to a new member and going first just doesn't happen very often.

It's hard enough to become established in the market as is - never mind requiring 100 vouches to get some gold - I'd end up just going to a major website if I were a legitimate user just requiring gold.

 

This is another one of those really bad ideas.

First I could have 150 vouches all for selling 1 upgrade each, and another member could have 15 vouches selling/buying 1b each. Who is more trusted? I would say the 15 vouches because there is pretty much little to no risk involved in upgrade trades, but 1b trades are tricky. Vouches should never be trusted on numbers, it should always be quality.

 

You guys made some pretty good points, and the 1b thing for 100 vouches was just an example; the Sythe admins could set whatever they wanted for the number or quality of vouches. Sorry my idea was bad I just wanted peoples opinions and hopefully Prevent scamming from happening.

 

This wouldn't work because the case of actual legit people wanting to buy and sell gold. So if somebody who is legit doesn't meet the requirements, they'd pretty much be out of luck. Sythe's activity as a whole would decrease exponentially in a matter of a few months.


Sorry, but there's really no room for debate on this one. Maybe think of a better way to help combat scammers and try again later on.

 

Well id say no its just a wierd idea to be honest and no need for it, if your dumb enough to even look at a post that says selling 1b not going first from a newcomer or active member yo dumb ass deserves to be scammed. "Just a saying dont take it personal" but you need to know who to trade with read the stickies. Sorry man no need.

 

This ^. Not everyone is some super active market person who needs to buy gold or occasionally make a bigger transaction. If you practice safe trading vouches shouldnt matter much anyways because a OMM/ reputable MM will be handling the trade and will be able to spot any funny business (and 9/10 prevent any scam from occurring unless its the classic chargeback). Once again, it also could come down to vouch quality not quantity. 100 vouches for upgrades or 5-10m is not (to me and many others of the site) as good as a handfull of 250m+++ trades as theres a lot more trust involved, a lot more on the line and a much larger potential to scam.

Prerequisites to being able to buy would just be a massive waste of time and push people to trade on other sites. These are some really bad ideas being tossed out here recently, i urge you guys to think of the practicality of your suggestions before posting them, as well as the effects they would have on the site.

 

Not a great idea, it would just encourage people to fake vouches.

It's not about the post count status my friend. There is a guy floating around here that has sold over 3b RSGP with newcomer status, been a member since 2007 I think, not 100% on the actual year but close to that. Stumbled on his account about a week ago while grave digging (Not really) and can't remember his name for the life of me. I know his sig said he was an active member at d2jsp though.

 

Do not fix something which isn't broken and the current system we have is good enough.
