Buying on the Trading Post

For the next part of the guide we’ll need 3 armor pieces or 3 weapons of exotic rarity. What we’re going to do it we’re going to mix 3 armor or 3 weapons with the Mystic Forge stone and this will give us a new weapon. This method is a bit of a gamble and you should be prepaid to spend some gold in order to make some gold, because it’s always a risk that you end up with a crappy item that you can sell after you mixed everything in the forge.

You can do this method with both armors and weapons. Armor tend to be a little bit more safe to do then weapons, but weapons have a chance of getting a legendary prefix, but then you have to be extremely luck. A heads up is that there’s also a possibility that you will end up with a water weapon and these weapons sell terrible and you won’t turn a profit if you get one of those, so this method is a gamble.
So go to the trading post and search for either weapons or armor. Enter the rarity to Exotic and the Level Range should be around 70 to 80. Then hit Search.
Now a lot of expensive weapons/armors will turn up, we don’t want any of these, we want items that cost as little as possible, try and go for items under 50 silver. Sort them by cheapest first and click on one of those. Now you could just buy the weapon/armor with the Buy now button and get it right away, this isn’t the best way to do it. You should always place a custom offer order and simply place a offer for a few coppers more then the current highest offer. This will take some more time but you will save a lot of gold doing this. And don’t worry if somebody overbid your offer, then you can always cancel your offer and place a new one and you won’t lose any money doing that. Now just wait until you get the items you orderd. You should have at least 3 pieces of armor or 3 weapons before you can move on to the next part.
