Harming Sales

Okay, I just got a report moved to SL because it would "harm the users sales". Because in it, he openly admits to treating personal information terribly and possibly having security holes because he hires a shitty developer.

People should be allowed to know this. It should not be moved into the staff lounge because of "harming the users sales". When you report someone, it should affect their sales, they did something wrong.

Note that he has peoples full names, addresses, IPs, IDs, possibly banking information, Paypal information... Treating that information poorly is a terrible thing to do and people should know about it before using him. Especially considering he got pissed the fuck off when only his name and address were leaked himself.

 

people should have the right to know who they are trading with.

I agree. Why would you hide something like that? I am guessing you posted him admitting that his security and web designer is shit you'd probably get banned or at the very least infracted for something. I don't see why this information should be SL only, because it could seriously effect people.

 

The report was moved to the staff lounge because it holds accusations about his site that cannot be confirmed or denied.

You're welcome to make a new report that we can publicly report back to you on if there's news, but it's completely up to you.

He has every right to request that unconfirmed accusations about his site be removed. The report still had to be dealt with however, which is why it was moved to the staff lounge.

 

This is seriously sythe's oldest procedure when dealing with controversial scam reports... we did the same thing with grave vs corey, we did the same thing with all the kina reports, it's just protocol.

 

^ i wouldn't want to trade with someone who has a active scam report on them, but i guess some of the Higher class people on this site get special perks.

 

All im gonna say is we've all seen what our staff is made of this week, well some of them. This site is just getting degraded by the corrupted staff per day. Whats good for some should be good for other, what good for Mods should be good for members .....

 

Unless their is proof that the accused has scammed or deceived anyone I don't think it's anyone's business but the staff. It's their call what to do with the report until it is either proven true or false. And if they moved it to the SL to prevent it hurting his sales then what is anyone going to do about it? If it was left public and ruined his sales and then it turned out to be a misunderstanding then the accused would have more to deal with then someone posting a report.

 

If this were the case then all scam reports should be SLed and not just ones on people who are famous around Sythe. There shouldn't be bias no matter how much someone has donated, traded on the site, or rank in the site.

 

So basically your saying that if someone posted a report on you with enough proof for a report but not enough for staff to make anything out of it and the accusation harmed your sales you'd be cool with it.

 

It does effect people's sales when a scam report is open. However most scam reports are dealt with fairly fast. With cases such as this were the report remains open for several days it is only fair that it is moved to the SL so it only effects sales for a day or two like all of the other reports.

 

Why do you treat R2Pleasent Better than any other on this site? Just because he paid so much for stuff doesn't mean he's god, this is really biased, weren't people supposed to be non biased?

 

Report or no report, the least he could do is let his buyers know that there is a chance of their information being leaked, you do realize if someone trades with this person, and has their identity stolen or cash stolen because of this user the people that fall victim will turn to Sythe for answers and expect Sythe and its staff to make it right. And in all honesty, it will be your fault because you refused to make something like this public for the sake of the mans sales over dozens of users personal info that could affect their REAL lives, not their lives on some internet forum. Staff needs to wake up!

 

Like I said in my post above, it is fair.
A lot of reports that take time are moved to the SL. It's standard procedure.

 

So what you're saying is, Risk the chance of letting dozens of his customers fall victim to identity theft because you don't want him to lose out on a few sales the next few days, give me a damn break.

 

Why don't you do the same for every report? Move every report to the SL? Why are reports like Exiles one which took far more than this one, and Exiles thread was not moved?

 

I could make a report on you and it could last days, only to find out you didn't even scam in the first place. How would you feel then? Losing a tons of customers even when you're a perfectly legit guy.

 

If I had holes in my system that could cause users to have serious issue like identity theft, I would close my shop down like the responsible person SHOULD do, and get it fixed. And Sythe shouldn't allow such a security risk on their site. I think making someone sacrifice a few sales to make sure nobody is going to suffer worse consequences isn't a bad thing.

Since you want to keep comparing me to how I would feel, how you you feel if this person caused you to suffer identity theft and you ended up owing some company thousands of dollars, your first instinct is going to be 'blame Sythe' after you sat here and defender their motives. You are no different than anyone else that may fall victim to this guy if he was to get hacked.

E: This is just like saying your Skype was hacked but not telling anyone about it, or Sythe. Most of the time you will receive a temp ban until you gain control over your account again and pay back those who may have been scammed while you had no control over the account. Should users stop telling Sythe when their Skype got hacked? Or are you going to start putting their threads in the staff only section to so they don't have to lose sales....

Like I said, staff needs to get their heads out of their asses and realize the trouble this could bring on Sythe and do it the right way, you make users who have been hacked ban themselves until proven they have full control of their accounts again, now make this guy close his sales until he can prove he can protect our personal information.

 

You do realize its not been proven there are holes in the system, those were all implied and never proven. Please buddy pull your head out of your butt buddy's ass and read the chat properly.
