    [WU] Western Union questions!

    Hey guys,

I know there are some threads about WU but they don't really fullfill my knowledge of WU. Or not to the level I wish!

    1. What are the benefits of WU?
    2. Is it true that you can never be scammed with WU?
    3. ?? Anything you'd like to tell me about WU is welcome!

    Thanks guys :)
I'm thinking of using it for buying / selling stuff thats why.

    [WU] Western Union questions!

    1. What are the benefits of WU?

Western Union you can get cash in hand picked up from any WU vendor in area, no risk of chargebacks from buyers as you have the cold hard cash in your hand.

    2. Is it true that you can never be scammed with WU?

Well if you give the gold first you can but if the buyer goes first no, you pick up the cash from a WU vendor and you have the notes in your hand so they can't take the money back. You then give the gold to the buyer and your 100 percent safe.

    3. Anything you'd like to tell me about WU is welcome!

You have to be 18, also you need forms of ID such as a passport to pick up the cash from a WU vendor.

    [WU] Western Union questions!

Thanks for the (quick) response Fendle!
I'm 18 and all, but would I be able to work completely online?
I live in Belgium and the thing is they're pretty retarded here.
The closest WU (little shop) is 3km away and is closed 2/7 days atleast.

Would I be able to make an online account, from where you can withdraw
AND put cash on through your bank or something? :)

And great to hear you can't be scammed, unless you go first ofcourse.

WU Online really depends on where you are from, it varies from country to country. Best bet is to give them a ring.

    ^Okay thanks Fendle :)
By the way, how about the costs on transactions? Do you know anything about that?

And if anybody from Belgium uses WU, let me know whats up with WU online plox. I do seem to need a Visa or Mastercard too?

Western Union have a online calculator to see the costs, I went on WesternUnion.com myself and checked to see how much a 200 USD transaction would cost from the US to your country.

To send 200 USD to Belgium it will cost 0 if they send from their bank straight to your bank, if you want to pick up the cash in person it will cost them 15 USD to send the transaction for instant delivery. The bank option takes around 4-5 days. So on average around 15 USD per transaction.

    [WU] Western Union questions!

    1. What are the benefits of WU?

Irreversible, tax free and cash in hand.

    2. Is it true that you can never be scammed with WU?

People can always reclaim payments before it's picked up. I.E; I could send you $100, before you were to collect the funds, I would be able to ring up WU, and tell them I've made a mistake or whatever excuse and stop the payment from being made. However, this is very rare.

Once you have the cash however, you're 100% safe :)

    3. Anything you'd like to tell me about WU is welcome!

That's wrong, you don't need to be 18.

ID is required if you're sending from the physical location.

    www.westernunion.com

You can check the fees in correlation to the amount sent on their website.

    [WU] Western Union questions!

Okay guys thank you both for all the response :D
The fees are a bit high to be honest. Gosh 40€ on 1.000€ and 20€ on 200 is quite alot :(

Sellerman: How do you mean taxfree? Even if you make like 20.000€/$ on a yearbasis than?

Well, what he means is the tax man can't really track you receiving the money since your getting it paid to you in cash. Of course if you are making a living receiving WU the tax man would end up catching up with you.

You should look into MoneyBookers its pretty safe, obviously don't go doing billions in trades to one person but its much safer than PayPal.

They sure are alot cheaper in transaction costs :p
So the chance of being scammed / a scammer charging back is smaller and the rest is basicaly the same? In big lines than.

You can still accept WU as the buyer usually pays the transaction fee. There is no fee's on your end to receive.

In most countries you only have to be 18 if the transaction is over a certain amount - usually $1,000. They're also really only supposed to ask for ID if it's over $1,000 too (depending on the country), although I always get IDed for some reason, I just show it to them so I don't cause any problems and can get on my way. I'd rather just show them than bitch to them about them not needing it.
