For safety purposes. Also i think it would get plenty of 'usage' as there is the refund if you get scammed..

@ the hacking, your account is just as safe as any other online account. get a good password, add caps/numbers into it and dont make it an obvious one..

Then it would put middlemen completely out of business. I'm talking about the hackers/crackers that get into databases and steal thousand of dollars. IMO, it's way to big of a change for the site right now. However, the pros outweigh the cons, and it would be a good idea to implement.

Middlemanning isn't really a business. they dont make hundreds of dollars a week middlemanning, most are free. it would save there time. i think its a good idea.

You've no idea how much OMMs were making when FT was released. And there could be another surge of activity at any given time in the future. Plus a lot of people worked hard on getting their OMM ranks, then it becomes pretty much useless.

Though I do love the idea if there was a full-proof method to prevent any chargeback where Sythe nor the victim loses any money.

Actually if the Sythe currency would come up with protection against scamming, I'm sure alot of people would join in.
I for one would be in for that, even if that means paying a 5% 'safety fee'.

I don't see how this can attrackt new hackers/crackers either?

I do think this should be worked out and there should be looked into this deeply. After all scamming is one of the biggest problems on Sythe..

The bottom line comes down to Sythe being responsible for the currency. If a database hack were to occur, he would be fucked, and left to pay back thousands of dollars. There would be people exchanging currency for PP/WU/MB like they do RSGP, and most of the currency would be dumped off before anything could be fixed/found. The scammer has already sold the currency to a retailer and cashed out, so in the end, it leaves Sythe paying the price. It wouldn't prevent many other scams because people would have their currency sold by the time a scam report was filled out and verified.

You'd have to research into the Bitcoin world for more information about hackers and crackers. There's a site that used this type of system (name doesn't come to mind) that was hacked into and the hackers stole $250,000 worth of currency before they could be stopped. The site is just now opening back up, but they have to work out a budget-plan to pay off $250,000 to the people who fell victim to the attacks.

Im sure, with the amount of donations sythe gets, that the database is rather safe from crackers.

Ways to fix a lot of problems you all brought up.

    1. PP chargebacks would be nearly impossible for the currency. All Richard would need to do is write up a good terms of use users agree to everytime they add cash to their wallet and bam.

    2. Scammer sends gold then chargeback or spends before caught. This can be fixed by putting a temp hold on each transaction, like 24 hours or something close to that.

    3. Hackers stealing money. Don't see this happening.. Again, if they were to just hack your account the temp hold on each transaction would protect you.

    4. Go the extra step, allow users to set and additional password to their wallet they have to type in for every transaction..

Thanks for all the support so far guys, keep it coming

Nobody is going to hack their server and steal thousands of dollars..

Where you said the scammer has already sold the currency to a retailer and cashed out.... This wont happen for several reasons, one the 24-48 hour transaction hold on each sale would stop this, not to mention that in order to do this, it would take a nicely sized database that would keep track of each and every transaction, allow Sythe to have his minions of mods search through them to find where the money has gone..

    Your points are invalid..

I dont agree with the temp hold. But i agree with #4. You can also have maybe 3 security type questions every time you want to take money out of your 'sythe stash'.

Paypal will never happen, and there could be trusted users doing bonds just like donations.

I would love to see this implemented. I would gladly help staff with anything they need.

Encrypted OS + Encrypted DB + SSL + daily security checks & password change on a remote VPS.

Impossible is nothing, and this idea would really bump Sythe's popularity while decreasing scams :)

Do your research before you start making points and supporting them. I can tell you don't know a thing you're talking about, or backing up. Professionals were hired to secure these websites, and people were able to get in and steal hundreds of thousand of dollars. Sythe doesn't want to be responsible for that shit, anything that goes wrong it comes back on him (anything). Do your research before you start talking. Research isn't a quick google search either, you have to actually go and register to these forums and read up on things that happen. I'm not going to recommend scammers to any of the sites I'm on, because the communities are pretty much scammer free. If you want the sites PM me and I'll give them to you. You can find everything on google and through forums that you need to look for.

Ok, we have all agreed no PP Lol.

So, if you implement the system, put security on our wallets each user has to punch in before having access to your wallet, temp hold on transactions (This could be for new users only, once your account has had 10+ sales the temp hold would be removed)

Other suggestions to make this better and get it approved?

Any website is hackable, ANY WEBSITE.. that includes PP, eBay, etc.

Now, to "hack" a website and steal thousands of dollars is going to require a lot of juice from someone that knows what he is doing. You think people with that kind of brain power are going to target Sythe when they could hit up bigger fish like PP, eBay, Amazon, etc?

No, I think not. Nobody said it wasn't impossible, just that it wouldn't happen.
So on the whole "research before you speak" bullshit you tossed out there, next time read through the comments a little better before you jump on a new forum and starting acting like you know a thing or two, sound good?

I like the idea, it will definitely take a lot of work to implement though.
Also should it be made possible to take donations with a user's Sythe "Wallet"?
It would make less of hassle for users to wait for any user with donation bonds to come online and be able to donate straight away with their Sythe "Wallet". Either way, I think it's a good idea and should be looked into.

Oh and Sythe could charge even small fees for transactions, it would help the site stay alive.

    Support .

I absolutely love that idea, being able to donate straight from your wallet would be so much easier.

Also wanted to add a note here, this would not put OMM or people with donation bonds out of business because not everyone is going to use this system, granted MOST of us would, but there would still be a need for OMM and donor bonds

E: another suggestion, have the ability to hide, show your wallet amount on your profile, just in case you don't want others knowing how much you got ;D
