I'm kinda pumped, I think this will be the first time it will be relatively easy to create not only computer applications but easily port those to mobile.

Plus, I'm a linux junkie... who can blame me?

I really love the concept, but I think it's only really effective if you use ubuntu. If you don't like ubuntu on your desktop and you will only use Windows, the whole docking to desktop thing gets wasted.

But yeah, I was really excited when I watched that video. Looks awesome, would definitely buy one.

It won't make porting applications any easier. iOS / android / windows phone apps run on same code as desktop apps, the issue with porting is the GUI and user input, which Ubuntu phone will suffer from aswell.

    Also, android is Linux.

    So no not overly excited.

I'm quite excited for this. I'm always intrigued by new OS's and plying with them. I've used iOS, which I think is an absolute joke....Android is fairly good, but I don't like the phones, Windows phone is awesome with its unbeatable connectivity options(but it's also heavily restricted which sucks)
symbian has always been my all-time fav, as it's the most versatile, and it's very similar to having a PC...in your hands. Too bad it's a dead OS which is also slowly killing quite possibly the most revolutionary cellular electronics company of all time...nokia.

If Ubuntu is anythin like symbian(perhaps on a prettier scale) then I'm in for a treat...and I think the rest of the world is too. Ubuntu for the PC is already very intuitive...i'm curious to see how this will all coexist.

On the computer, ubuntu is a great OS.
But in my opinion it doesn't seem to be as good as other mobile operation systems like android for example.

I'd say it's pretty much the same as nokia lumias. There all the same android phone imo. Same layout and uses. Prefer the iphone 5.
