I Need Help With Screenshots

Hi can someone tell me how to get to the hotkey settings on my windows 7 laptop because using PrtScr is not working to take screenshots and I tried downloading GATWIN screen campture but this program called aol something was blocking me from seeing the screenshots.

 

Sounds like you have some sort of Internet filter on.

Why don't you use puush? That is a way more successful screen capturing service.

ok so go on windows 7, and then what you need to do is press CTRL then AT THE SAME TIME press prtscr. you need to do it at the same time otherwise the screen shot wont work, then after that go on your computer and get "paint" up then on the left corner of "paint" click it and it will say "paste" then click that and there you go. but remember to save it if you want to. if you have anymore questions feel free to pm me! :] and my advice to you is DONT DOWNLOAD ANYTHING. because if you download something it could be something bad such as a Trojan,worm, etc. so and also if the print screen guide I just told you doesn't work, try going to your control panel of your computer and go on security,maybe something in your control panel isn't right so I'd check that.

 

Like Laptop65 said, puush is an excellent program to capture you screen. Another great program just like it is ScreenSnapr, both programs have hotkeys to select an area of your screen or just the whole screen entirely. I'd really look into getting one of these programs other then using Print Screen and having to paste into some program like Paint. With the programs I listed above, it automatically hosts them and puts the link in your clipboard.

That's how it was on my old computer and it didn't work but thanks for the feedback.

 

You could always use gyazo, it uploads the picture for you aswell, its great for using if you need to upload something really quickly, and for my laptop i have to hold the button "fn" not sure about yours but give it a go

 

Didn't work

Neither did puush too, keeps giving me the same message on every program I use, "DataMask by Aol has blocked this screen capture" and I even uninstalled that program. Here's a pic of it, the only types of pictures I can take atm is of this.

DataMask from AOL is a software from them that attempts to prevent keylogging and stops you from getting on suspicious sites. puush is not a suspicious site.

I assume you know how to remove programs from your computer, simply uninstall the program or try to disable the phishing on it.

And, I would honestly go for something proper if you want proper virus protection on your machine. Something like Kaspersky.

 

I'm not trying to patronise you in any way, but perhaps your PrtScrn key is simply has another function, so you just need to hold down "Fn" plus the PrtScrn key?

 

Thanks but Swag Doctor already suggested that and I had tried it before hand and it still doesn't work.

 

I did uninstall it and after I restarted my computer everything works fine thanks! Can this thread get closed please.
