Will we ever go back?

Hello Sythe. I was wondering, if Jagex will EVER bring back the old Runescape.

(not the old old Runescape just the Runescape before the EOC)

 

As much as I want them to bring it back, I highly doubt they will. Only purpose of EoC was to attract new players and I guess they will stick by that unless in a few months time they fail to reach their initial verdict.

 

I highly doubt they will bring our RS back but I think it would be an awesome idea to make servers like RS classic but instead our RS into those servers.

I don't see it happening for two reasons.

1)They just released EoC, which was a major update, JaGeX has put alot of time and effort into the EoC and they made the decision to launch because they believe it will have a long-term, positive effect on the game/the number of players.

2)If the number of players isn't rising, I don't believe they will remove EoC because by doing that they actually prove themselves wrong and (a big part of the community) right, while they ignored us.

The idea of seperate servers sounds good, then nobody has to complain anymore.

 

You say noone would complain anymore but people would, everyone would complain about no updates. You'd be fine for a month, maybe 2 before it gets real bad. You could say just implement things that they do on eoc servers, but that means jagex coding twice, which honestly, won't happen.

 

Well yes it was a lot of effort and a lot of marketing with the live videos and such but as far as I can tell, everyone hates it. I'm not sure if they genuinely hate it or what, but I know I do.

As for the admission of being wrong... well check out free trade and wilderness... they're back (wilderness to an extent is back... still not the same =[) So it's already happened, I don't see why it cannot happen again but it will probably be a while until any considerations happen.

 

I'm sure they would bite their pride if EOC is obviously not working. They did it in the past (wild/free trade).

 

I sure as hell would go back and regret selling all of my accounts omg why didnt get just make it duel like they did with runescape classic

 

This is a good point.

Although jagex see the update as an 'upgrade', so in there eyes, why would they 'downgrade'?

Possibly in a few years; but not anytime soon. we'll have to wait and see..

I really want them to bring out a rs2, like RSC..

 

I'd say there was next to zero chance of this happening. I really wish it would though. Man it was so good back then.

 

Well, if we keep protesting like we did with the wildernsess they might consider it, some day we should organise a protest on sythe and go on runescape and say what we need to say to jagex.

 

Didn't care that they updated to Eoc at first cause i was quitting anyway and it seemed like a good way to end the old era, but now that I kinda want to play Rs again can't bring myself to it, cause it's not what it was.

 

I'm 99% sure that they wont do this ;/

 

It's highly unlikely that they wont do this, they have spent a lot of money and man-hours on this, although the fact that they brought back the wildy & free trade gives me 0.000001% of hope but even then that was a different situation and different sort of update.

 

Nah they won't. They simply spent too much time on creating and promoting the EOC. They also advertised it on TV so they wouldn't want all that to go down.

EoC is a lot better than the old RS, it's just you're all so annoyed at change. I can't see them going back.

 

Yeah I guess it was too much of a major overhaul of the game, cause in reality how could the old system possibly be any better than Eoc, we just miss what Rs used to be.

 

I don't see them ever changing back to the old combat system. They've put too much time and money into it now, no going back.
