Ok so I was a member is rscheata.net when they were around and their was rarely any scamming. They had a good system, you had to have different levels of verification to be able to do different thing. And they had an invite system not just everyone with a computer could join you had to post in a section dedicated to people wantin to join and explain why you wanted to join and so on. In the years I was on rscheata I never got scammed. Since I've been here its happened twice in a month, and when someone gets banned the just make a new acc and start it all again. Probably what the guy who scammed me today is doing right now. All I'm saying is we need something to make people wary of scamming. If you were a verified seller on rscheata and you scammed you got banned and all of your personal information was released to the scammed. Just some suggestions. It's too easy for people to scam and then make a new account and do it all over.

Support. very good idea, if some1 wants tobe verified seller they have to give their personal information to a sythe admin/mod which will verify the personal information.

    Very very good idea :)
and just make a special "verified seller" rank for them.

But YOU already ask for personal details before trading? Lol.

Edit: Read the topic wrong. I think we should have staff members pick "Staff Verified" sellers, this would be a very easy implant and they can put in bylaws that state even though they are verified scam chances may still occur. Kind of like an OMM idea.

This is largely covered in donating. I think that the releasing of personal details could lead to privacy breach issues or, the guy could just give fake details. No support.

    not really.
just one new rank and a few mods that handle requests for people that want tobe verified sellers.

No, details need tobe confirmed, address can be verified by calling home phone numbers.
And eventually a mobile phone number.

Being verified must cost around $5 for phone calls that have tobe made for the verification process :)

verry good idea. if someone scamms, then the mods/admins will have their real personal details.
    i support this !!!
more like I.D Verified, than verified seller because u may be buyer, and it will be stupidly to got 2 ranks like verified seller and buyer...
I.D Verified sounds pretty enough for me

So the mods/admins have their personal details, what then? They can't do anything because scamming most of the stuff on this site is not illegal, like RSGP is technically still Jagex's property. It's a waste of time basically.

The problem is, people think donating makes you trust worthy

I thought the whole idea behind donating was to help the site? This just makes it more dangerous for someone to trust someone with a donation rank.

OH look at me I've donated under $50, HIGHLY TRUSTED Omgfartxx

Now just because you've donated over $50 doesn't make you trusted. Some people use it as an excuse for others to get first in trades lower than the amount they've donated for. Cool beans, but it sets expectations that this person wont scam you at all and he's donated $300. Bullshit..

No one is verified, everyone is capable of scamming.. Save the bs and blame bush for the economy.

    Good day

If someone scams someone else give that person their details to do what they please with. Peace of mind. If people know that their personal life is at stake they are less inclined to scamming. On rscheata the owner called my house an talked to me to verify my information before I could sell/buy

    LEGIT

As I said anyone is capable of anything so in essence you could possibly be giving a "verified" rank to future scammers

    Been suggested many times before.

There's many positive and negative factors to this, however the negatives outweigh the positive.

And yes, it would be a breach in privacy or some other legislation for releasing personal information.

    No support.

Yes and if they scammed in the future then al of their personal information is open to the scammed and the community if needed. Something is better than nothing, like we have now, nothing. You scam you get banned you make a new again you scan you get banned you make a new account.

It would breach nothing with a simple disclaimer stating that your information will be released upon the circumstances of you scamming someone. If you agree then its not doing anything you don't agree on.

Why would they give out personal information like that? You aren't thinking straight, and the idea is horrible. Releasing personal information is on the borderline of scamming, possibly worse depending on the amount. It's a joke.. This suggestion is a joke

Hey it worked for rscheata. IMO they would still be a bigger well knit community than sythe ever will be if it hadn't been for jagex shutting them down for their bot. It's a suggestion no need to be snotty about it.

Releasing their information to the person they scammed would be doing NOTHING wrong if the agreed what would happen if they scammed. What happens now? The scammer gets banned and the scammee still gets left with nothing and less than thy had before? No. That's bullshit if you ask me.

Bad, it will segregate the non verified to the verified users and cause the non verified people to get less sales.

It's hard enough to become established in the market, never mind having to compete with 'verified sellers'. If you're not comfortable with a trade, don't do it - simple.

It's already been denied 100 times.

Maybe you could suggest the types of verifications you would like to see on sythe, and what each would enable you to do?

Invite only forum is on the DNS list, reasoning being not a productive way to get new members.

Linking back to the first quote, what personal information are you suggesting sythe should collect?

It's all good suggesting, however it wouldn't harm you to elaborate on what you would actually like to see implemented.
