I have no idea how to add watermarks so lets hope no one steals them>.<

So, here is my first go at a thread layout, this is going from 0 experience in GFX to something I think is half decent, Thoughts please?:D

It looks alright I guess though the header text looks blurred and low quality and it's hard to make out the AIO part. As for the thread itself it would be nice to see some continuity in the fonts and sizes, it looks a bit messy. Like the font for the dungeoneering details is a completely different one and then the leading between the 100k and 200k is too small that the text touches which looks weird. Then for the Quests, that is a whole lot larger than the rest and looks out of place. You should establish one font for a title and stick to that and keep it the same size. Generally keep the same font for the body of it also and keep that the same size also.

I don't currently have any decent texts so I had to use a text generator for the font, thank you for your feedback, I do agree, the prices of the dg look abit weird, will look into sorting that out:D

What did you use to make the layout? If you want some decent texts try dafont or if you want to just get a bunch you could download a resource pack.

I used gimpshop to make it, and where could I get a resource pack from?

    :s gimpshop

If you want to get into graphics a bit more I'd recommend photoshop. You can download a trial from their website for free.

You can just google for a font pack, a lot of youtubers release them and other graphic resources also.

Try adding a border to it with a background.

    Also,
to add watermarks, just type some text and change the opacity to 50% or whatever you think is best. Quite simple :p

Did you install the fonts? Just double click on each one and install it. Then restart photoshop and they should appear.

    Also, sounds good.

Typically there is a .zip file and then several fonts inside for font packs. Is this not the case for you?

You should save it as a png instead as Jpg loses a lot of the quality. Also I feel you should try and move away from just including a few random images. and having no background or anything. Try looking at other peoples layouts before hand to see what I mean.

I actually like the image posted in the OP. the text is hard to read, but that's preferable to some of the atrocities people create who are at your level of experience. The theme is nice and uniform, the text isn't whored with ugly effects, though is still a bit difficult to read, and the runescape images are nicely cut out, though I'm sure that wasn't of your doing.. It's still good that you know the difference between a quality and a shitty render/stock.

Keep it up, you're well on your way to being a natural at this.

Thank you so much, that really does mean alot, going to zero to getting some really nice compliments and people taking time out to show me what I've done wrong/ways to improve, it's made me feel really welcome:3

I didn't cut the images no haha x) and yeah the text is a little difficult to read on the pricing anyway which should really be like that because at the end of the day thats what we're promoting;-) but I'm working on one atm, adding a background etc so should look alot better:) (pretty much copying the one in OP but making it better)

Finally finished, the background was pissing me off, as at the bottom it wouldn't blend, will be looking into sorting that out tomorrow, the gap between 60+80 dungeoneering I will sort out too, had to make 3 different images and they wouldn't all fit, had to make do:3

That looks alot better than when you started but i advise you ad more color but im far from a graphic designer but if you add more like to it, it might look better because all your colors are like based so the layout is dark unless thats how you wanted it. Do you see how your sig has a load of light in it, but i mean if you wanted it dark then yes man it looks of wonder.

Kind of bland if you ask me, you'll need to put more effort into it such as text styles.
