What I have noticed about Marijuana.

You're a fucking idiot. Marijuana has only been proven to be harmful to people who use it underage for an extended period of time. No studies have shown it to kill brain cells whatsoever. If you're talking about the long-debunked study from the 1970's where researchers tested marijuana on monkeys, that has been completely proven wrong. The study used pure marijuana smoke, with no oxygen, and this oxygen deprivation killed the monkeys brain cells. Please do some research and don't be brainwashed by the government.

 

Well, it's your own personal opinion then if you don't want to smoke and you find it disgusting, and I respect that. There's nothing wrong with that train of thought, everyone has their own preferences. For some reason, I actually find smoking incredibly unattractive on females (not intending to be sexist) but I just don't like the way it looks. I don't know, but that's just me. I personally don't smoke but I'm fine with it, majority of my friends are smokers and I don't think there's anything wrong with that. It's just a lifestyle choice similar to gaming. Sitting 6 to 8 hours or more everyday on a seat immobile looking at a monitor must be bad for you lol.

Besides, literally everything kills brain cells these days such as my above sample of excessive gaming. How often can you walk outside and see a bunch of little kids playing ball anymore? It's probably one of the things contributing to the increasingly common weight problem. In comparison to many, many things people are doing commonly nowadays, smoking marijuana isn't that bad. I only advocate smoking marijuana because I don't find it as detrimental to your health as many, many other things that are already legalized. It's already literally on the streets anyway so what's the point of trying to stop it? It's just wasted resources trying to stop people to smoke marijuana. It's like telling a fat kid to stop eating McDonalds. If anything, regarding my above statement on the increasing weight problem, McDonalds should be regulated. Whether or not you're located in the USA, I'm pretty sure you've heard about the "obese epidemic" all over America. Shit tons of people are getting fat; which as everyone knows is incredibly detrimental to your health such as increased chances of organ failure, diabetes, high cholesterol, and etc. If anything, people should be more worried about the McDonalds that's almost on every other block nationwide where you can just walk in and eat 1,000 calorie meal for only like $5. There's shit tons of bigger problems and people are totally blowing marijuana up into something it's really not.

Whether or not you want to smoke marijuana should be left to that person, but you shouldn't try to push your views onto them. Of course they know there's side effects to it as there is everything else but they chose to do it anyway. If you don't like it, then that's your issue. No point to just go around telling everyone "omfg, stop smoking. Do you know how nasty that shit is?

 

In your reply you specify your friends 'smoking'. Well, most of my friends smoke too, but not marijuana, common ciggarrete which is different.

You are wrong when you say "almost everything" kills brain cells, that's not true but my point was based that marijuana kills a lot of them, such as alcohol.
If you read my replies, you should've noticed I never touched the point of an addiction to marijuana, as I am aware that judging on marijuana addiction would be stupid when there are dudes who spends their entire day on a computer or playing video games. If I came across that, the only bad thing I would find is that marijuana, atleast in my country, is quite expensive.

You guys aren't really putting a definition on 'Stupidity'. Smoking doesn't MAKE you stupid, but to say that it doesn't cause things like slower reaction time, memory issues, etc. is completely false and you should all know that.

Not true. If you are an active smoker any time between the ages of 0 and 18 while your brain is developing the fastest then it causes permanent 'damage'. It lowers reaction time, cause difficulties learning, and causes slower brain growth which leads to lower IQs. I can't remember how much you had to smoke to get these effects, but after your brain finishes development there are only minor damages that occur in the long run.

It goes without saying though that I support legalization for those over 21, much like alcohol. By that time you generally have enough life behind you to make your own decisions and live with them.

 

If you knew how to search anything you would know that the myth that smoking marijuana kills brain cells has been debunked for years now. The leading study of pot killing brain cells was a group of scientist putting gas masks on rhesus monkeys and forcing them to breath extremely potent marijuana causing asphyxiation and death. So please don't be ignorant and tell people to search things that you clearly don't know about yourself.

 

Marijuana will not be legal in the U.K for a while. That is just a guess.

Canada will not legalize Marijuana as long as the conservatives are on top. Im voting Liberal, NDP or the Green party. All 3 of those parties want it taxed/legalized. Conservative party - harsher punishments for possession etc. I smoke to keep me alive because of my condition, and having to get a green card is ridiculous.

 

i really think with the few states now in the US that allow it, not sure how many but a few of them are allowed for medical reasons, and then Washington and Colorado? just made it so if you are 21 and over you can use it for whatever reason you want.

I feel that this is just a start to a new...push for marijuana being legal Federally instead of just being legal per individual state.

It's stupid that you can get it legalized within your state, yet it's illegal still.

I do think it's only a matter of years until it's legal for use regardless who it is.

People will grow it themselfs, they won't have to worry about going to jail simply growing something that they want to smoke/sell.

The only downside of it to be totally legalized is that everyone will want to start growing it due to the money in that kind of market.

So the key i guess would be for the government to make it like moonshine is.

You can make moonshine legally, and have it taxed by the government and be safe.

or

you can make it yourself without the feds knowing, and do it illegal and have your stuff tax free but risk going to jail.

So to open a shop and have a small tax on what you are growing would probably end up being worth it. So i really hope it ends up being like that in years to come, as i used to smoke, and quit. I LOVE the fact i'd be able to grow it, have fun growing it, and sell it to people who enjoy smoking it and or need it for medical reasons.

Sensibility towards legalization is necessary, but deeming it 100% illegal on all fronts just doesn't make sense. I don't make judgements on people who go out and party in the weekends, or those who go to the pub to hang with friends. Anything can be abused, yet deeming Cannabis as a larger detriment to society than alcohol or cigarettes would be moronic.

I'm 20 years old, studying Graphic Design at University, and going in to my final year of the degree. I've just had my marks from the past year returned to me, and I finished as one of the Top 3 students in a year group of 200 strong. My Design friends and I smoke together regularly, and doing so has had no more negative effect on my life than social drinking has (which is none at all). Stating that I'm "fucking up my life" would be pure stupidity.

I live in The Netherlands, If I need weed I can get it in 30 minutes. It doesn matter if youŕe from here or not. And be happy they´re legalizing it. Less people will drink which causes less deaths.

Who cares about buds. There's no side effects and I'm not losing sleep over running out. I've done a lot more crazy drugs. And I am a firm believer we should just allow it and tax it.
