^^exactly how it should be. That's how my gaming laptop is setup, aswell as my multimedia/folding@home desktop is setup. I don't like putting anything but windows on my SSD's..everything else goes on my HDD.

What I mean is that if you have a SSD, why do you want a powerful HDD, The SSD is 256GB, which will hold windows + 10 Games with no problem.
I didn't mean that it will slow boots, just spending $200 or something on a HDD isn't worth it (MY OPINION) I ment that he should get a 500GB WD Caviar Black and save the money.

Why not go straight for a 690 instead of upgrading to duals later?

 

Because he doesn't have the money or doesn't want to spend the money right now but will probably get another 680, and, infact, 2 680's are faster than 1 690.
A single GTX 690 has 3072, which is 1536x2 CUDA Cores, which is the same as 2 680's but 2 680's.
A 680 has a better stock clock than a 690, and can overclock better.
The only positive in getting a 690 is that it uses less power and cables.

 

Processor came bent in a corner. Going to RMA it then continue. Build will be delayed a week or two.

Everything is working fine.

Most likely will be getting second GTX 680 and doing a SLI in the coming months.

but for what do you actually need this computer, like arent you able to do things that you do on a 1000$ computer?

 

Going to be running some benchmarks tomorrow that I'll post up. I'll be sure to re-do them as well in a week or two when my second 680 comes and I'll SLI. See how much better it gets.

 

Did you ever get a chair? Seems like it would be higher priority than future proofing your machine, lol.

Use those padded holes next to the mobo to make it look cleaner. I mean like especially the cable which powers the mobo, it's the fattest cable and looks bad, you can twist it in through the hole beside it and then the same goes for the GPU power cables, try getting everything through the padded holes for water cooling and as a last resort tuck the cables to the side. But it looks really clean.

Add a cushion to your seat LOL. Doesn't it hurt after a while?

 

As a few of you know I'm a error booting windows. Getting stuck on classpnp.sys I've narrowed it down to a motherboard or CPU issue. After I've figured that out ill be upgrading to a new case along with a dual 480mm radiators for my CPU and my two gpus.
