People don't know what a 'dying' forum is.

I'm not a guy. Also, those sites aren't always 100% accurate. I have access to the site's Google analytics account so I can see what's going on day by day and hour by hour.

 

All it proves is less traffic, it by no means proves that the forum is DEATH, DEATH!

This forum has a very healthy amount of discussion and traffic for years to come.

 

Just an addition, all the other sites like powerbot, etc have also decreased in traffic.

I'm anxious to hear what Purple Smurf has to say though, and I agree that removing the DNS list or removing several things from it would be a good idea.

 

I believe the only good coming out of this thread is the possibility of the removal of the DNS list. I do agree that too many good ideas have been shot down by it.

 

I have to agree with you. Right now, I think it's best for us admins to sit back and listen hard to what you're all asking of us regardless of if the idea sucks ass or is totally impossible. Never hurts to listen and respond.

 

Traffic is dwindling, and activity is going down with it. Maybe I used the wrong word, it's not "dying" per-say, but it is certainly losing activity and it seems that no one gives a shit about it except for Richard, and even then, he's not on for very long. Most of he moderators and administrators are content with the low activity levels and don't notice that people are losing interest.

It's a shame, really. Sythe used to be an awesome place to be.

 

although i agree some stuff can not be done that understandable, but i will say this as a point/fact that the sythe community is starting to drop but this is also to do with EoC I believe but also sum members have had just enough of the site, there's still good stuff in the community but this site is not like it used to be

 

If you don't have examples then I need not take what you say as true and frankly it isn't true. If they just suggest something without justification we just lock that. If they make a compelling case that hasn't been discussed before it is generally left open.

 

I just gave you two examples of reasons they were locked. You're telling me right now that no suggestion has ever been locked due to "vB4 coming" or "DNS list"?

Richard's already addressed all the shelved and vb4 threads. He's looking at them.


I'd like to see the removal of the DNS list personally. Even if the suggestion is impossible, discussion can lead to alternatives and new ideas, which should be fully encouraged.

 

A lot of ideas have gone through that have been on the DNS list before.

Just because 100 people suggest something doesn't make it a good suggestion. They could all suggest we make Sythe's theme lime green. Even though many people suggest it, it's not good.

Verts is debating the removal of the DNS list, which I support.

There have been a ton of changes just in the past month.


Also, Dial. I have been on a dying forum before, I was moderator on rstrainers.com a botting site. That forum is now completely dead. I can tell you now that Sythe is nothing near dead or dying.

 

Uhh... what? Just because I don't have sufficient access to make changes myself doesn't mean I'm not driving change. I don't like trying to get attention for things that were my idea because I'm shy, but the whole SEO improvement thing was put in to action because I brought it up with Sythe. We collaborated and put that in to action as a team.

Examples as in real examples of it happening. Go find me some thread links. Richard has already rectified the vB4 issue. The DNS list is there for a reason so that we don't have to go through the same arguments every few months about why we don't want something. As I said before, give a compelling and new argument and we will listen.

 

Just because traffic is slowing, it doesn't mean that sythe is dying. We could be having a bad spell. With the huge intro of the LoL section, I reckon we can revive the site greatly, as we will be having a new community join.

 

I mostly meant with the attitude, an example is SuF. He doesn't seem to give a shit that traffic is dwindling (as by his attitude in this thread). It's the same with a few another administrators it seems. But then again, it always seems like the administrators don't do much (with 6 of you, there really isn't much for each of you to do...).

Things like your SEO update will greatly help Sythe of course. But you can't just get more traffic and not improve the site. The guests won't sign up if you keep the same ugly theme, and the long, complicated, index.

 

Is it reasonable to suggest removing the do not suggest list? :laugh:

 

The index has been reworked, if you have issues raise it there..

There is the GFX competition running to replace the logo and background and a theme re-design has been mentioned..

Most of the things you seem to have a problem with are being addressed.

 

You're right, all of my arguments are completely invalid and Sythe is perfect. I'm sorry for even posting... I shouldn't doubt these administrators.
