The most ridiculous scams?

Due to recent events, I wondering what has been the most ridiculous scam that has ever been tried on you.

Mine was today. Some guy approached me while I was cutting Ivy, he was like "Yo, follow me for a second", knowing it could be a scam or lure, I acted like a nub, then he told me a way to dupe Staffs of Light. He told me to go buy one, I pretended to go buy one, instead, I just got a water staff from my bank and did as he said. What he said to do was place staff on the table and squash a grand seed pod. Gg scammer ;D

 

When I wear a party hat there are a lot of people asking me to follow them. Like really why would I? Lol.

 

I know that's dumb, but i bet people fall for that!

Personally haven't come across a lot of dumb scams/lures. I generally just don't respond to people.

 

Armour trimming.

 

Not responding to those weird requests are surely the way to avoid getting lured/scam.

I personally do not even entertain them at all.

Ikr! It's so ridiculous that people keep trying that, and then some people are like OMG HES LEGIT HE DOUBLED MY 1K I SHOULD GET HIM TO DOUBLE MY 1M

Some people are just so gullible. It's sad that doubling actually earns some people money

 

Doubling money is awesome. I always trade 100k, they give me back 200 hoping i will give a load, and they just keep doubling the money they gave me, made 1m of a couple of idiots by doing that. Though also lost 100k q couple times, but what's 100k.

 

Mhm, well I was logging on RuneScape to check to see if Jagex had wiped me or not as I had like 300M on my account but everything was fine then some noob traded me and showed me 100M to try show off I guess so I showed him 300M lol and he said if I give him my 300M he will then give me 400M back...... never did try it wonder if he was legit. L0L.

 

If its relevant to staking, then xlogging by simply box hugging and then running up the arena not being attacked for 8 seconds, and close client/browser. This was around 2005. Loads of people did it and was annoying as hell. Was fixed pretty quick though.

 

I remember back in 2006 people used to say "Selling Rune Long - 10k", and then [this is before the second trade screen and warning signs], they would quickly switch the Rune Long for a Mith Long and make like 8k, they would've been quicker just fishing lobsters or something lmao, but that's one that sticks in my head, just for the lols factor =D

 

What this guy said. People used to ask me to give them my armor to trim it back when there was no G.E. Also, people used to sell rune (t) and they noted the set, right before they accepted they changed the legs to normal rune legs.

I remember people trying to buy, for example, Sara plate for 1500k. They quickly changed the 1500k to 15004. Some people actually fell for it.

Or trading Iron ore instead of coal, etc.

 

When someone with a maxed/near maxed total level account scams 1m from you.

 

I saw yesterday someone on World 7 saying "Doubling, 3m minimum." I mean, seriously, who believes that?
