New RuneScape christmas event?

So christmas is fast approaching and as a lot of you have probably seen today the christmas event has been announced. Anyway I was wondering would there be a point in me setting up loads of accounts to do the christmas quest and get the rare item?

Basically what I am trying to say is will it make an account valuable in the future?

 

I doubt it'll even be tradeable, and that many people do it, it's not worth it. I've not done any christmas/easter/halloween events since 2008/9, as they've all been useless, and the rewards are shocking. If they released a decent reward for once, I'd probably do it, but cosmetics mean nothing tbh.

 

You'd be surprised how many people play and even pay for cosmetics...Solemon's store. ;p

But, if RS survives, ofc it'd be worth something. But, it'll take some time.

 

This christmas event however does make it very different.

Street price of purple present is 20m-30m and the new hat reward is about 100m. (Crashing Fast)

Though it is un-stable, they are sure trade-able!

Here's the combination you will get from collecting these presents.
Presents are obtained randomly when you skill or kill any monster. It is also a reward from SOF.

The rarest present are the Dragonstone Present.

Having the full set can be exchange for the hat.



The rarest present are in the following order: Dragonstone Purple > Diamond White> Ruby Red > Emerald Green > Sapphire Blue

 

Wow lol I haven`t tried this christmas thing yet? Sounds good how do I start it? And can you do it more than once?

The event's only good is the 200k hunter bonus exp. Similar to Skill Pendent. Except you can stake it with a hunter Pendent.

Other than that, the rewards from the event are just the usual cosmetic stuff. Santa Beard and Santa Sack.

I do enjoy the trading element of the event though.


Edit: You do not need to do the event to receive the presents.

 

So, how hard is it to get the christmas hat? And will the christmas hat become discontinued or always be available? Why is it 100m?

 

All presents and the Christmas tree hat are confirmed to be tradeable.

Not sure what is Jagex up to.

The difficulty is getting the Purple Present. Tree Hat is 100m the last I check, although I heard its crashing real fast. Maybe a new discontinued item... who knows..

 

To me, it sounds like the Christmas Hat is just another fish mask..doubt it will rise in value very much, it will probably become very easy to obtain.

 

Maybe if I stocked up on a load of presents they would be worth more?

As surely a lot of people will trade them in for the gifts?

 

It's just a hype, like there is for every new item. It'll crash to next-to-nothing within a few days to a week.

Oh Okay shame . Can you get an infinite amount of the gifts or is there a limit?

 

You can only have 1 necklace thing, sounds like Christmas hat is unlimited, but it's crashing heavily already. I already see it down to 15m

Can't tell if people are actually getting 50M for the hat, or just trolling. Regardless, it is going to become more and more common. I wonder how common though, if it becomes a very rare item after it's discontinued. But look at fish masks..that never materialized into a halloween mask type rare..so I doubt this christmas hat does either.

 

The fish masks will be rare one day, just not for many years. If enough people who own one quit, like the other holidays, you never know. Same with these, but it'll take many years.

 

Is the salty claws hat rare yet? I have one
