My Runescape 2006 Nostalgia Thread

So heres the story, i started Runescape in 2005, around the time the rubber chicken was released, i started making Youtube videos of Runecape in 2006 and carried on until early 2008 when my Youtube account was terminated for having 3 strikes of copyright infringement.

So i lost all my precious memories (videos) of oldschool Runescape -sad face.

Then about a week ago, i discovered my old, old old laptop, first laptop i ever had, that i used from 2005-2007 until it broke. So i opened the bad boy up and pulled out the hard drive, purchased a USB Enclosure and hooked it up to my computer, enabling me to view all my files!

And what i found, was beautiful - im dedicating this thread to showcase my old pictures and videos of Runescape from 2006 to early 2007, although unfortunately this is only a small portion of the stuff i had, as when the laptop broke i got a new one, that i used from late 2007 to 2009, where all the rest of my RS screenshots and videos would of been.

Which i no longer have, so i am unable to recover any files >_<

So lets begin! Anyone remember this "event"?





It is but of course the time when Zezima was caught walking around Seers Village/Catherby/Ardougne, accumulating a massive crowd of followers, and then used the lever in Ardougne to teleport himself to Level 50 Willdy, in which the majority of the followers couldnt resist but do the same.

I happened to witness this event and followed for a while and took these screenshots, but i didn't follow him to the wildly, which i later then saw a video of on Youtube, where actual pkers awaited the idiotic innocent players who didnt bank their shit. There was speculations that this wasnt Zezima himself, but a temporal hacker who tried to take advantage, but this cannot be confirmed.



My first ever 200k pk on my pure, apparently so glorious i was inclined to print screen right away, a rune scimi, granite maul and a rune chain? I clearly just cleaned this typical low level main character's bank, he was clueless, almost felt guilty.



My first 50+ hit on my main, mate i felt the nuts that day. although of course this was much more impressive given the strength bonus's and prayers back then, it still seems mediocre that i print screened this with serious pride.



Geeking out as a kid, with my sexy zamorak runeplatebody as i was like fuck ever being able to afford that dragon chain!



Ironically enough, it turns out i did afford 'dat chain, and heres a picture of me selling my full dragon a while after acquiring it, cor it was like wearing a partyhat, the attention it brought, the constant begging from noobs... it was truly the richman's outfit in 2006.



I dont know what i was doing here, i was rather legitimately attempting the fight caves and had no knowledge of the mage 360s or the Jad, i think i was curious and was doing it to train and see how far it goes, i had no idea what i was in for. and its amusing how i went in gilded to show off my wealth, when its a single-player area xD.

using the classic crystal bow, oh how i loved it! (this was pest control before the nerf, one single boat, 100+ clan worlds would control and dominate worlds then move on when they got leaked.



Random noobing around in Camelot's party room, before it was moved to Falador.



Hunting the Giant Mole was so pointless, the drops were rubbish, but i still did it for quite a while, because i felt like a beast Solo'ing what i saw as a boss monster. I remember getting in to some worlds and there would be teams killing it all in such noob gear. And it was the most annoying thing to kill, how it kept going back into the ground and you had to go find it... I was dharoking the giant mole once and i died and dropped 7m worth of stuff on the floor, i literally just managed to get back in time to loot the important items with no seconds to spare :O.

Read almost all the thread Damn memories you got here my friend! I started playing the same year as you, when the easter ring event came out hehe so most of these pictures and videos remembered me the old times of my RuneScape gameplay.

However I wish I had that amount of money lol, I used to hang around with my full rune and rune longsword

Aww seeing this threads makes me thing about my childhood =D going to friends house and we all played together and even sometimes we did daily questing together.
it hurts now that RS is so different from what it used to be and honestly the reason why I started playing is now slowly fading away.

 

Haha, i remember the first Rune weapon i managed to get, it was a Rune Mace, i was so proud of myself for getting my first rune item, but it was so shit and i didnt understand, so i went back to my Addy Scimitar until i could afford a Rune one xD.

Aha yeah i used to love Rammstein, and still do to this date! Even though i dont know German, their music is still somehow awesome.

Amazing! It feels to be ages for me even thought I had been playing about 2 years already that time. Had also some screens even from like 2003, maybe earlier, but I have no idea where they gone Thanks for this thread dude! True nostalgia.

 

Really enjoyed this thread ! Made me remember some of the good old times. I wish I knew the fate of my oldest pc, that I cannot remember. Thank you for posting this !

Thanks for this. Honestly, it was so sick back in 06. I love how everything looked in the inventory on the third page. Ah.

 

Yeah man, took me quite a while making that pure defence account, this was back before Monks at Edgeville were nerfed, they used to heal themselves forever, so if you only hit 1s with bad accuracy, you could NEVER actually kill one, so i just afked attacking Monks for about 8 days.

Was a fun account, i actually ended up getting the account to 10 attack 20 strength 60 defence, and used to stake at the duel arena on him in full dragon!

Then i stopped for ages, eventually came back and got him to 20 attack 20 strength 70 defence, went back about to do some insane staking, then boom... free trade was removed and staking was gone. And obviously Soul Wars didnt exist at this point, so getting such high defence with 10-20 attack and 20 strength, took FOREVER. trained at minotaurs in f2p until around 65 defence i believe.

Yeah me to man, it looked perfect, wish it never changed.

Lmao yeah man, AOL was so shit i hated it, logging in and dialing up to the internet everytime, with that horrible sound it made while dialling, and it was slow as hell!
