Yeah, the new iMac Desktop came out recently, and I'm thinking of buying it. I'm really into my macs, and I believe they're the best. Is it worth the $2K+?
    Thoughts?

Macs are never worth the money for the power you're getting. If you really like the mac OS you may want to look into hackintoshes.

Macs themselves aren't any different than a PC. the hardware in them is basically the same. You're still using an intel processor, and you're still using AMD/NVIDIA gfx cards. Thus, you're basically buying a heavily overpriced(and underpowered as far as value per dollar) PC, with what is essentially a locked-up non-free distribution of a free operating system loaded on it. What i mean by this is that Mac OSX is based off of linux, but linux itself is FREE.

anywho, you can build your own Mac out of a PC. and believe it or not...it'll do everything that the IMAC you're thinking about pissing money away at...but it'll be able to do it better, faster, and more efficiently!

the guy above is 100% right in his post.

Mac's are a waste of money imo.

If you want a mac I'd get a Macbook Pro, only for work and all that stuff.

It's not just how it's internal specs, it's look and feel is what I like.

What do you value in a computer then? Specs, design, etc.?

But seeing as your a fanboi you might aswell waste your money, take no advice on the fact that a custom built windows pc is a lot better/cheaper and buy it.

If you are after design, then yes. In my opinion the iMac's are the most eye pleasing desktops you can buy.

If you value specs, then no. They are overpriced and you can get a Windows desktop for much cheaper with the same specs. You are only paying for the brand.

Of the OS or the computer itself? Because if it's the latter I'm done here, heh.

If you have the spare $2k+ then do it. If not, then Id suggest to get a Macbook Pro, or one of the newer Windows computers.
