BuyVM is more expensive and it's OpenVZ rather than Xen.

Xen is generally more expensive due to the virtualization and the inability to allocate more resources than you have. OpenVZ is commonly oversold and is a container like virtualization. Xen is more dedicated, though there is slight more overhead. But with Xen for example you can run CloudLinux for cPanel instead of on OpenVZ because of the virtualization technology.
