Steam revoking issues (not selling anything)

so, today i got one of my games revoked that i had bought maybe 2 months ago, and i was just wondering what was the safest way to buy games on steam, excluding from steam itself of course. Because gifts can be revoked is it saber to buy keys or can they also get revoked?

 

I'm sure if you pay for it they can't revoke it... Free gifts however make sense... It was free, still their right...

Buying the game at a store is always an option otherwise you have to rely on steam for purchasing their games.

 

i bught it from a guy in the forum, and i guess it is kinda illegal ...

 

cd-keys are usually the safest becaue most cd-keys are either bought in bulk for cheap, or bought on other language platforms, like a russian or australian version of the game.

 

Probably chargeback on the credit card, which means your account should be disabled and the gift should be removed. You probably didn't pay enough for it to be legit

 

I second reddevil's statement. There is no 'safe' way anything other than official sources is always a gamble.
