What's with all the methods of donation. More and more users are offering the same thing, and with the different prices are they profiting from it? It all looks a bit sketchy if you ask me.

Why isn't there just one person who could be Matthews second hand man, who could handle all of this, as TBT offers most forms of donation, yet there's still there's offering RSGP, PA, MAIL and BT.

If you add in the fees and time required for the donations then they're not profiting a lot. They are providing a service which wouldn't be there without them so if they wanted to get a few pennies for their time then that's fine.

We lose money on every single donation. We always offer a better rate than the price we buy gold at, and our workers dedicate their free time to do it.

(edit) It does look like TBT is though, as he charges 4% extra for WU and 5% extra for LR.

On the $5 donations I don't make anything really 30 cents maybe but only to keep with exchange rates. Only reason I offer it is because UK-BT is widely used in the UK so I can help people can a foot in the door of the donation ranks.

Those handling donations are allowed to profit off of them if they wish to do so. They're going out of their way, using their time, to help you donate. Who's to condemn them for making a buck or two on the side? Their rates are clearly stated. If you don't like the rates they offer then don't donate through them. Simple as that.

I'm with n4n0, you shouldn't expect people to provide a service and volunteer their time and energy without getting anything out of it. Grave loses money from donations though, which means you should probably use him to get the best rate :p

Also, it's good that there are multiple people handling these services. It means there's a better chance that someone's online if you want to donate

    n4n0 got it spot on.

People are able to charge what they want if they want to lose money/make money/break even.

The fact of the matter is they are giving the site MANY different ways to donate so you don't have to wait to donate, if you want to donate and get your rank, you have more than one person to donate thrue.

Say Tux is offline for LU payments, but someone else offers LU and they are online well then they can use that person.

If the person is making money with donations thats nice as long as they arent charging WAY over they are helping you so giving them a little extra just helps them for helping you.

This is a key part for me.

Back when I wanted to donate my $5 last year there was only TBT and one other person and the other person was inactive. It took so long to donate my $5 as TBT was busy a lot of the time or not on due to our differing timezone. It was a hassle to say the least.

WU is for the loss while exchanging from USD to COP (WU receiving), then I have to go to the bank and pay my credit card, which is later charged more than official exchange rate to pay USD via PP. And I don't have online WU, I have do it all walking.

LR is the same (4% without the LR fee itself), though is online, most people I have ever sold LR charge me a fee.

I can't make a loss with RSGP, along with the risk of price fluctuation (Because I don't sell my stock daily and renew). I have to sell it manually and takes me more time, I have no website, no workers, just me. Plus the risk of having it in my account.

    :)

On-topic: I see no issue with having multiple people. Actually helps.

I agree with the exchange rate, WU's exchange rate is pretty lower compared to the normal rate.

I understand the practicality, but the fact that people profit from a NON-PROFIT organisation (which I believe sythe is registered as, correct me if I'm wrong), I think is wrong. There should be a method where we can donate without having to go through someone, like a direct donation.

Pretty sure once you donated once you can donate direct to Sythe via PayPal.
