Extend thread creation timer?

It's really needed to extend creation time of thread on Sythe.org
Specially because there's still 1 faggot that makes couple threads everyday, ban evading and trying to spam and rat people.
I totally support your idea mate, I hope it'll get introduced to sythe. I think it should be extended more than 5mins, even 30 if possible. Noone really makes thread every 30 mins, most of ppl do 1-5threads /day if they even do.

That's a bit awkward, one of them lasted over 20 minutes yesterday, as I reported him multiple times..

An example of what this suggestion could stop or at least partly stop threads being made at that speed. I know most people on here know what a shady link is and what isn't. However there's always one person who will click a Java drive by link without knowing what it really is. I remember I was phished on here back in like 2010 from a thread just like that in RS General. I had pretty much my whole RS account cleaned save for my bank.

The less threads like that which exist, the less chance of someone getting caught out from one.

What about removing the 5 limit timer after a user has reached a certain milestone? For example something like 500 - 1000 post count.

I agree 100% with this, 5 minutes would cut down more than you'd think and it would be a great help for us mods, as we'd have less threads to delete. Also less people would see the threads meaning less people are likely to click the malocious links.

I think it's a forumwide option that varies per usergroup. So it has nothing to do with sections.

Support! Nobody creates a thread every 1 minute. 5 is reasonable.

 

Support 5-10 minutes is a reasonable time, who would create threads every 2 minutes besides the idiot spammers. Would cut down on a lot of the idiotic threads being created and give mods time to find x2 postings in each forum.

 

Support, 5 minutes sounds reasonable, however would we need to make sure it doesn't affect report a spammer threads as it'd be annoying if you saw multiple spam threads and could only report one every 5 minutes?

 

Good point. However I think reporting posts is different to creating threads as its sending an email instead. Although setting the thread creation timer (currently 1 minute) is a Global forum wide option, so changing it would apply everywhere. However I'm pretty sure Matthew or Govind could tweak it or find a mod suitable that makes it not effective for reporting posts.

 

Support, although a trial of 3 minutes should be utilised first.

 

To be honest, 10 minutes would be better, I don't know many people who make threads within 20mins. However, could this be removed from the RaSc and RaSp and Report a Ban Evader?
