The End of the World .. 2012

So as the end of the world is fast approaching, apparently .. I thought it'd be cool to see what some people think about it all.

I mean I know the world has been said to end a handful of times, and it's got to be pretty tricky to predict the end of the world on an exact date .. but it's a pretty scary thought to think if everything started to go down hill on the 21st of December.

What do you think will happen ?

 

Well considering evolution I think not...... the world has always existed before humans came upon it therefore i believe it will be here long after we leave it..

Well, nothing happened in 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2003 and so on.

There's plenty of theories on how the world is going to end, though just about all of them have been disapproved by Science. I don't see how the world is exactly supposed to end in like 2-3 days, but I suppose we'll wait and see.

 

I know what will happen on that day, I will mark 4 days till Christmas. The only kids who believe this are 12 year olds who have not reached puberty yet. Nothing will happen, just another day in history.

 

Incorrect. I know folks in their late 20's who have plans should anything happen, some expecting looting and rioting to break out.

I myself don't expect anything to happen. I also live with someone who's favourite topic is conspiracy theories so i'm always hearing various stories and theories about the world.

The 21st is my birthday sooo... extra interesting for me Obviously the world's not ending, but it will be interesting how people react.

 

I'm predicting that I take a massive shit during that day.

 

For the people that seriously think the world will end on a specific date and are expecting it, I pity them for being so dim. People should know better, whenever something like this is supposed to happen it wont, such as "the rapture", which has been incorrectly predicted and expected 9 times now.

It vexes me when people choose to expect an unlikely and scientifically (usually the people expecting it disregard and abandon scientific reasoning) impossible event to occur to wipe out our existence or some crap. Maybe this is just an atheists diatribe but it frustrates me.

 

I'm gonna smoke $2000 worth of crack on that day and be like "FUCK THE WORLD NIGGA!!!". Also, I forgot who told me this on MSN, but someone said "Anyone ever think the Mayans got a sore hand and was like this should be good enough".

Yet like last week wasn't there a solar flare on the opposite side of the sun that would have turned the earth into a piece of charcoal, if it had come this direction?

I don't think the world is going to end on December 21st, but as "evolved" as we are now, we wouldn't survive long if the sun decided to roast us .

On a side note, I still stocked up on Ammo, just in case of a zombie Apocalypse! only have 6k rounds of .45 and 2k of 5.56, so I hope it doesn't last TOO long .

The people that actually believe these conspiracy theories make me laugh. To give some perspective, did you guys ever think that maybe the Mayans just got bored of making up a calendar and just thought "meh, that's enough"?

Honestly, I don't believe the world is gonna end because the Mayans said it will. Although, I believe in my life time that there will be an economic collapse that will cause anarchy in the streets. Or that we'll run out of space to build, run out of air to breath, or run out of food. Pollution is becoming a big deal nowadays, as well. Too many things can happen, and one of them isn't because the Mayan calendar ended on December 21, 2012.

I wouldn't be shocked if people off'd themselves. It'll be a bad day, nonetheless, if people do stupid shit. It won't be a surprise, either.

 

There will be mass hysteria, but nothing will happen. In my life, I have lived through many of these "world apocalypse" events.

 

There were plenty of other world apocalyspe, which didn't happend. (for example 2000 etc.) Also I think I heard that the Mayas did displace the countdown of the world ending.

Seriously, there will be nothing happen on the 21st of December. Probably only news about it.

 

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but when the world ends, it will be world wide, and no one will be safe, except Christians. The end of the world does not embrace time zones. Read Revelations. There is a biblical quote that you reminded me about. "The first shall be last, and the last shall be first."
