Why is Corey mod?

Does he even do anything besides act like an ass, stay in hidden mode all the time, and block members from messaging him?

In my eyes he is the most unprofessional of the staff, and it just makes me wonder why he is staff in the first place?

You're mad because I disabled my pms from normal users for 5 minutes because Ross said he was going to send me a blank PM.

Hi, ok. Let's ignore that part for a second here. You still, in my eyes, do very little in comparison to the other staff, and oh do I hate your attitude towards people.

 

I was just responding to that because the third point was the real reason the thread was made, and the other two are just things he/she thought of off the top of her head.

1. I don't act like an ass, if you're referring to the way I conduct myself in the spam forum, I'd like to point out that its just the spam forum.

2. I stay in hidden mode because most of the day I'm on sythe from my cell from work and can't respond to certain requests that most users make when they see me on. I think its better to let them forward those requests to other moderators who can handle it.

When people want something important they know they can PM me and I do it, simple as that. As for why I was inactive last month, it has been explained before in a previous feedback thread, so I won't go through the hassle of doing it again. If you would like to look around, you can see I've picked up my activity quite a bit so far this month.

So then I ask, why bother being mod in the first place if you can't even dedicate some of your time to helping users?

No, since you're barely active, never visibly online, and do nothing that's really noticeable at all by the regular user, no one would ever really bother you to do anything.

Quite a bit? You mean from almost nothing to... slightly more than almost nothing?

 

I do have time, after work every day which is supposed to end for me on friday (however I've been told that about 5 times now).

You posted this thread knowing I was invisible, so I'm sure a lot of others know I'm on invisible as well. Therefore, they would bother PMing me. I actually get PMs from users quite a bit now as it is.

I'll list off a few notable things I've done in the FOUR days of this month so far:

-Investigated and put an end to an investigation against Alma Mater.
-Helped end the case with xKronic, which I've been involved in helping him pay back a user for the past few months.
-Corrected some mistakes made by sectionals
-Heavily involved in several staff discussions currently taking place

It would also be worth noting that its hard for me to get spam reports during the week because generally by the time I get home from work, they're mostly all done. Its somewhat pointless to dig into just a few spam reports at a time, as we usually like to sit down and do a page or two at a time.

Same goes for scam reports, if you haven't noticed, they get done almost as soon as they pop up.

I make sure I check through disputes and high pardons daily as well, making sure I post where I need to, which usually isn't often because in most cases sectionals are the banning moderator and most knowledgeable in the subject at hand.

If you think I'm unfit to be a moderator I'd suggest you take it up with the people that matter by sending them a PM. If you have a problem with me that doesn't involve you trying to get me demoted but rather make constructive feedback, you're welcome to post threads here as you please.

You kind of missed the point, what I mean is we never know when you're on so we don't know when we'll get a reply to an issue.

I'm sure you don't get nearly as many PMs as other more visible staff.

You know how much this means to someone who can't see or verify just how much you've actually done here? But yes just to strengthen my point there is absolutely nothing you do that is visible to members, and the stuff you do means very little to the majority.

I don't really care about spam reports, as that's taken care of just fine by sectionals and others. What I DO care about is your involvement in the community. The times I actually see you most are in situations like this.

My stance will stay unless I see changes. I wouldn't mind seeing you stay as moderator... if you fix up what you do.

 

Being active in the community has never been a requirement of a moderator.

If it will make you feel better I'll go off invisible, but I can't promise it'll always be disabled for other unmentioned reasons.

 

But it's the only way for you to matter, and by active in the community I don't only mean posting, I mean with assisting people as well.

I'll take what I can get.

 

Assisting people through PM (90% of the time its things that should have been done through the report system) isn't the only way to make a difference on the site though, and its a very minimal part of our job.

Anyway, I feel I should bring it up because its on my chest, if you're going to complain about me having a bad attitude, first please consider that maybe you have one yourself. You haven't exactly made me look at you with a smile lately.

 

Sorry but what does this have to do with anything? I'm not staff and probably never will be.

I am not a representation of the website, I am merely a user of the service.
