Pure Essence

Someone got 25k Essence from doing the new Rune Mystery quest or the Memories, how?

 

probably a glitch. Or some way with new update, could be supposed to happen... probably not!

The new Rune Memories quest I think it is, gives players access to a Pure Essence Chest.

The amount of initial essence in the chest is based on a formula found on RS wiki, and with 99 Runecrafting, you can recieve 24-25k Pure Essence from the chest.

After quest completion, as you level you Runecrafting skill, additional essence will be provided at each level up equal to Essence of 5x your new level, i.e. if I level from 59 RC to 60 RC, I recieve 300 Pure Essence, and then from 60-61, 305 Pure Essence, and this stack so from 59-61, I would recieve 605 Pure Essence.

Hope that clears this issue up, this is meant to happen.

So if you do the quest at 40rc, then go back at 99rc and claim again, you get more essence? (The 25k - the original amount claimed?)

 

This is possible with the new quests, depends on your level or something.
Don't know the exact details.

 

If you do the quest at 40RC, you get the following formula of Pure Ess:

2.5 * level^2 + 2.5 * level

= 2.5* (40squared) + 2.5 * 40

= 2.5* 1600 + (100)

= 4000 + 100

= 4100 Ess.

Then for every level you level up, you get 5x Level Ess added to the chest:

So you will get 205 Ess at level 41, 210 Ess at level 42, all the way up to 99...

 

Pretty much, I can see essence crashing. This isn't good, as the RC bots will make a ton of cash again.

 

Especially with the abundance of them, people were whipping off 99 rc in the tutorial through runespan. I wouldn't be surprised if someone ended up with a few million ess.

 

Just think you have to have around 99 RC then open the chest.

 

They won't make as much cash as they used to make considering the dramatically low prices of runes. This was probably done to make it a viable way of making money which is actually a smart decision on Jagex's part so that Runecrafting isn't neglected.

 

Millions of ess... really?

I think the formulas work in tandem, so by the time everyone reaches 99 RC, they will have recieved around 24750 Essence, no matter what time they opened the chest, they will eventually get this amount of Ess.

 

It really shouldn't pose a big problem, people could try and take advantage of this, but you could be doing/botting other things to make more anyways
