Higher Tier Competition Winner Ranks

So i saw a thread a while back talking about wanting to exclude competition winners from future competitions, and that is obviously not a good idea, so the idea behind this system would be the following:

Example:

Pockets has a competition winner rank already, if he were to win another competition...he would get a higher tier "Better looking" rank than the current one that sythe has, so say you get the one that is currently on the website for winning one competition, then maybe the next tier would be at 5 competition wins and so on.

Would add a diverse range of ranks and give people that have one previous competitions a reason to want to win future competitions.

I don't think this is really necessary, we already have one special rank.

 

yeah but then that really leaves no incentive for anyone to want to win more than one competition, and it's good to get the community involved with things like that, and would just be a benifit to win more than one.

Support, it would increase the likelihood of past winners returning to take part in community competitions.

 

I think the idea was to make competitions more fair for everyone so you don't have the same person winning every single tournament for a particular game. I would much rather see 2 different people win tournaments than the same person win 2 tournaments, so I can't support giving incentives for people to keep winning over and over. Give other people a chance

 

Just cos they won one tournament doesnt mean they will win another, just gives them an incentive to try.

i agree with heatz, just because they win one, doesn't really mean they will win others as the games very from tourney to tourney, and if someone wins the rank, we dont want to just exclude them from other events..

I also think that even if a new rank wasnt an option we could add a +1, +2, +3 infront of "Competition winner" and keep the same picture.

But obviously a newer better looking rank would be "Better"

If someone wins a second competition after two years say, they should have a rank to say they did so. It's not dominating the competition in my opinion, but rather it's saying this person is apt in some of the competitions Sythe.org has to offer.

 

I'd support only if the rank is awarded if the person(s) wins at two different competitions, and not the same competition (e.g. two time pool tournament champ) twice.

 

Yeah good point, maybe if you per-say win 10 pool tourneys in a row, you could get like "Pool Master" rank, and you hold that until you would lose?

maybe inter-grade that with other tourneys.

 

That would require excessive rotation of ranks which is a hassle. What I meant was, if you win the pool tournament say, 100 times - you're still only entitled to a normal competition rank. If you win say, a pool tournament and a graphics competition - you'd be entitled to the "2+ competition winner rank" or "higher tier competition rank".

 

I agree with this, would make things alot more competitive!

I'd support this, I love new goals be added why not aslong as it was if the user one 2 different competitions.

 

Support, it will give people who already have a competition rank something to look forward to. I also agree with RwmRS2's idea.

If they won the same competition twice, then no support. However, if they won 2 separate competitions, support. Maybe have "Competition Winner" which is the current, and then "Multi-Competition Winner" for those who are multiple times. Would show the men from the boys.
