The Start of my YouTube channel (first video idea)

    Hello Everyone!
For a VERY long time I've been watching YouTube commentaries, let's plays and all sorts of videos whether it may be Call of Duty, Minecraft or any other videos that catch my attention. I play video games daily and I feel I would have a really fun time doing this and sharing some gameplay with others. So recently I've invested in everything that I need to get started..a decent microphone/an HD capture card (console gaming), software, and everything else that is necessary. Anyways, my channel is going to be MAINLY Call of Duty related (for now at least) I've got some GREAT ideas and plans for the channel but I just need some advice getting started.

For my first video do you guys think it would be wise to just commentate over a simple gameplay to introduce myself and my channel OR should I just jump into the content that I have planned?

Also, what type of videos do you guys tend to like? Simple commentaries over good gameplays, Funny videos (trolling, raging, etc), or a combination of both?

ANY input OR ideas from you guys would be awesome! Thanks.

You become known not for the introductory commentary, but for the exciting, over-the-top, hardly possible, amazing kill cam gameplay.

Viewers aren't going to care who you are to start out, they'll be more interested in the content of what they're watching, instead of what they're listening too.

I would jump into the content that you have planned, you can always do the intro later once your name is circulating the YT/COD world.

I prefer a combination of both, but more towards having good gameplay instead of the commentary.

People search for gameplay, not commentary.

I was thinking more along the lines that you were as well! I figure, the faster I grab the viewers attention the better. Thanks for the reply.

It's going to be very difficult to get your name out their seeing as the scene is huge.

My suggestion would be to have different series on your channel in assorted playlists. Minecraft commentaries, Cod killshots, you get the idea. Try to have matching thumbnails and introductory graphics for your series.

Make pages for your Chanel. Twitter, Facebook, join forums with associated games, be active in communities.

The biggest tip I can give you is to stay on a schedule but always have 5-10 videos ready to upload just in case life gets in the way of things.

Most importantly don't make it feel like a job; Have fun!

Thank you very much for all of the tips! I'm taking in as much advice as I can get because I know that it is very hard work. Im deffinately all for having different playlists for different series/games.

Do you guys have any suggestions for some Call of Duty series you'd like to see? I've got tons of great things in mind but hearing what you guys would like to see would be awesome! Thanks.
