Smudging

How can I get a good start on it, I never actually tried it and I attempted it today and did not work as I anticipated it would? can you guys link me a tutorial for beginners?

 

It's not easy to get a really good looking smudge. Though everyone usually starts off doing smudge tags.

I'll look around but there are some excellent smudge tutorials on YT, but they're in Italian. They'll teach you the technique if you watch them though as you don't really need the commentary.
