October & November 2012's Member of the Month


Introduction
Hey there. You'll notice that I am running this in Brendan's absence and I am not one for the flowery speeches and what-not so I'll get right into the details. As in the previous MotM, the Overall, Non-Staff Member of the Month will receive an official Member of the Month rank for a month. The winners of the other categories will be PM'd, asking if they want a custom User Title for a month representing the category they won. In this edition also, the Gamer of the Month has been replaced by Artist of the Month.


Rules & Regulations:
Do not ask your friends to vote for you.
Don't vote for yourself.
Don't vote for your friends, vote for those you feel are most deserving.
Anybody found violating these rules could be suspended from this event or worse, determined on a case by case basis.

The following candidates cannot be voted for the category they previously won although they can be voted for different categories.
For example, SuF can be nominated for Runescaper of the Month but not Best Debater/Most Intelligent Member of the Month.

The Categories:​

Overall, Non-Staff Member of the Month - The overall member of the month is ONLY available to non-staff members. Nominations should be selected for these reasons: Respect towards others, helping other people in the community, helpful, non-spamming posts, good trading, and a true asset to the community. The winner of this award will receive a shiny new rank for a 30 day period! Banned members may not be voted for this category alone.

Overall, Staff Member of the Month - The overall staff member of the month is ONLY available to staff members. Criteria should be worked by general helpfulness, work in the Report a Scammer/Spammer sections, work in the Dispute forum, helpfulness on livechat and general decision making.

RuneScaper of the Month - This award should go to the member who understands the game of RuneScape and plays with skill. This can be seen by their helpful and insightful posts in the RuneScape section.

Artist of the Month - The new award for this edition. This award should go to the member who shows an ability to make great graphics in a variety of styles and uses their experience to help others.

Market Member of the Month - This is for the the member that uses to market a lot and completes a lot of successful trades. Things that can factor in whether to vote for them can include whether they're professional, how positive feedback is on there business and maybe even the amount of successful and valuable sales they've completed.

Most Community-Involved/Helpful Member of the Month - This one goes to the person who doesn't exactly trade much around the community, but puts him/herself after the community's wants and needs. This person posts in all sections of the forums and loves to help people. The award itself is already self-explanatory, but those who do a lot of trading in the Markets should NOT be nominated for that. These members also genuinely do there best to help out around the forums.

Best Debater/Most Intelligent Member of the Month - The Best Debater/Most Intelligent Member of the Month is a new award for September. It should be awarded to a member who is creating helpful suggestions, creates intelligent posts and debates well in the Something For All forum.

Spammer of the month - The Spammer of the Month award goes to the person who creates the most useless posts on Sythe. What defines Spamming can be seen in the Sythe.org Official Rules. Spamming includes but is not limited to gravedigging, trolling, creating useless posts and posting only to increase postcount.

How to vote:

Voting will run for two weeks, closing on the 14th of December.

What's the point of introducing your Sythe username? That's not anonymous.

 

I'd imagine to help prevent people from voting for themselves multiple times

 

Sounds great, thanks for setting this up Jack Goff and accomplices . I like the addition of the anonymous voting, should help stop any people voting along the lines of their friends. There's two of the top category on the voting page though.

 

Yeah this. Only the people who tally up the votes will know your Sythe name so it is still anonymous.

Yeah the problem is that there's no staff member option, it's called the same as the non-staff. Until it's fixed, can we assume that the second one is the one for STAFF members?

 

Yes that is correct. I've PM'd FlyingToast so we can get this resolved ASAP.

EDIT: Was able to resolve this issue. It is now correctly named. Let's get some votes guys!

 

I like this new system. I'll leave my vote in a couple of days.

 

I say we use that spreadsheet regardless, and have people voice their votes as well if they wish. Will make counting a lot easier

 

I prefer the anonymous system, much better. I will leave my vote tomorrow when my mind can actually process things.
