Runescape HELP

Okay so I haven't played RS in forever and I'm restarting by making a new character.

I want it to be a pure. Yes 1 Defense so I don't have to bother with sooo many quests.

But I have a few questions before I continue this.

-Are they still effective in PvP with the EoC update?
-Since prayer doesn't add to combat level which I think, would it be best to get 99 prayer and turmoil prayers?
-How much does 99 prayer cost these days?

pretty sure you need defence for turmoil

prayer = bones from 1-99 x price

 

Oh yeah totally forgot and why are pures pointless?

 

Pures are pretty pointless because the EoC update was made to encourage people to get defence, some of the gears that required 1 def has now gone up for eg. 60 def for black'd'hide chaps.. No point in starting mate!
