    Opiates and Sex Drive

Recently the past month or so I've noticed my sex drive has been low and my gf has been pissed at me cus we don't have sex on a regular. I'll admit when we first started dating last July, we used to drink alot and then have sex after the bar. Then it went to her giving me opiates (T3's, Hydrocodones, ect.) Then we'd smoke weed (we still do everyday).

Now we live together and both take opiates on a regular. I'll admit I know everyone is gonna be like OMG when they see this thread. I've done some hard opiates, from heroin to narcotic pills but then my gf will tell me "why don't we have sex?" and I'll tell her I think it's the drugs, and she tells me "So you'd rather have drugs and not have sex." Then she tells me well "I'm going to get it from somewhere else then." I don't know what to do because I want to be back to what I was and even not having opiates for a week it's still low. I mean I work 5 days a week 7am-6pm and I seriously don't know if I should see a dr. I don't know if they would give me some testosterone pills to balance my body so I can be back to what I was or what.

It's been on my mind for a while and couldn't post this before but I finally did it. I really don't know what to do (don't tell me quit opiates, because I can give them up for a week and maybe take one or 2 once a week and still doesn't make me feel any different.) Also people who do use opiates know the withdrawals are horrible, but for me after a few days I'm fine.

Also I do have a past with depression and anxiety issues.

Opiates lower your libido and affect your prolactin level. All people seem to suggest is seeing a doctor for testosterone treatments. I don't really want to suggest means that are just as bad, but I have heard methadone doesn't affect libido as much as others. I'd try and see a doctor first before you try anything like that though. Sometimes they'll refuse to prescribe anything but it's worth a shot. You definitely should look in to it in case it's something serious or a bad side effect.

I'm not sure how that works because I know methadone is very hard to get and is easy to abuse. I just want my body back so I'm not dealing with my GF mad because we don't have sex. It's stupid since she knows what opiates do, she shouldn't be mad at me.

    Opiates and Sex Drive

I've taken opiates for a long time and I haven't really noticed much of a decrease in sex drive, but it's still a very common side effect for a lot of people. It definitely depends on how much I take though and how many days I've been taking them. One thing that does happen to me is they sometimes make it impossible for me to cum. It doesn't happen very often though. Like previously stated, opiates do lower your libido, so you just don't have as much of a desire to have sex. There are also many other things that affect your sex drive though, so it's possible that it's not just the opiates. Stress, anxiety, lack of sleep, depression, low testosterone levels, low dopamine levels can all play a part. Also if you don't already, exercise definitely can help increase libido. Just go for a quick run each day. I would say the first thing you should do is just have sex even if you don't want to. It's not like you aren't physically capable, so just try it to keep your girlfriend off your back about it. I've heard certain foods can help too, such as celery, bananas, raw oysters, nuts and avocados. If nothing seems to work, then I would definitely recommend just going to see a doctor and see what he has to say about it.

Also Methadone might help some, but it's not easy to get. If you don't know where to get in on the streets, then you have to go see a doctor who will usually put you on a Methadone or Suboxone program, which consists of drug tests, NA meetings, etc. If you happen to know the right doctor, then you could get it without any of that, but it'll still be pretty expensive.

One of the best things to me about opiates is there is no comedown and it takes heavy usage to actually get withdrawals. To actually start forming a physical addiction to them, it takes about 2 weeks of daily usage. If I binge on them for a week and quit, then I might notice a little restlessness, achiness and a headache that lasts 2-3 days, but it's not a big deal at all. Once you are hooked though, then the withdrawals are just about the worst there is and opiates definitely have the highest number of relapses. Just don't take them for long periods of time and always take breaks as often as you can and hopefully it won't catch up with you later on.

I get my exercise daily at work lifting beds all day and such. I'd also like to say that I've tried foods and they don't work. I personally believe that the past 3 months of heavy black tar heroin use and prescription narcotics have taken a toll on me. At first it was hard to cum then now it's hard to even get aroused. I don't know where you figure that withdrawals aren't easy to get. I get dope sick if I don't IV or take prescription at least 3 Hydrocodone 10/650's at a time. I feel like it's out of hand where we've spent at least $1000 since the end of Aug. on H. I really want to be myself where I wasn't thinking "I'd rather be nodding" I mean I do like downers, like Lil Wayne said when you're on downers you don't wanna party, and in a song he said "I cut down on the syrup cus it made me fuck slow" quoted for the truth.

I'm just scared to go see a doctor because I don't want to be arrested and I don't want my family to know that I'm a drug user. I'm also sure that it's the opiate use, but I don't get great sleep and I do have a history of depression.

I didn't mean that withdrawals aren't easy to get, but it takes a longer amount of time for your body to get addicted to opiates than it does for most other drugs. Opiates take time to get addicted to, but it also takes time to get off of them. I started abusing opiates when I was 13, but it didn't catch up to me until I was about 16. Like meth or coke, you get hooked pretty much instantly and you won't stop until you're out. Once you stop, your body starts withdrawing immediately, but it also doesn't last very long. Whereas with opiates it usually takes a week or 2 of heavy usage for your body to start becoming dependent on them, but withdrawals are much worse. Of course your level of addiction varies for everybody though. I've never liked uppers enough to get hooked on them, but opiates and benzos are a whole different story for me. The physical addiction is nothing compared to the psychological addiction they have. I've slowed down a lot, but I'm still afraid the desire I have for them is going to stay with me forever. My natural tolerance has gone up a lot and never seems to go down even after not doing them for a while. I take about 30-40mg of hydro/oxy or shoot about 100mg of heroin when my tolerance is all the way down. My best advice to you is just take some time off. It takes a while for your body to get back to normal, so don't take them for 1-3 months or until you feel better. If you're like me, then you're probably going to substitute something else for opiates. I tend to drink too much on top of benzos sometimes. Just be careful with whatever you do and don't overdo it.

As far as the doctor goes, you have nothing to worry about. You don't even have to tell him about your opiate use and see if what he gives you works first. If you do choose to tell him, then there is nothing he can do to get you in trouble. Having drugs in your system isn't illegal, so you can't get arrested for it and you don't have to worry about your family finding out anything.

I've been addicted to several different substances in the past and I can say that nothing is as difficult for me to kick as opiates. It's pretty much the only thing I still get cravings for. I can definitely say that a painkiller addiction will only get worse and cause more problems for you as you continue doing them. Obviously you're a functionable person, but you're still going to have to slow down or quit eventually. It's best to do it before you have to face even more problems.

You could always, y'know, stop using opiates? They aren't particularly good for you, especially heroin, which you said you've done.

For me I've been taking prescription narcotics regularly and been doing BTH IV for a few months. I feel like I need it. I only do like 30units of a 1CC and I'm nodding hard with water, the shit we get is fire. I don't know average dope because the stuff I get is pretty much the best even my GF who's been an addict for 4 years said it's better than mostly all the Ohio stuff she got that was powder. For me I'm going to seek a dr's help soon and I am glad at least one person can relate. I've showed Corey what it's done to me and personally I enjoy downers.

To everyone else that says to "ya know just quit" It's not that easy. It's gotten easy for me to go see a dr and get prescription PK's and get them multiple times. Not to mention then it's just as easy for me to get H.

No, but it's obvious that you don't want to, yet anyways.

Shouldn't have snorted the pills, also pills are MUCH MUCH better then heroin, pills are a guaranteed high. You have an addiction, best to admit it and get to a methadone clinic ASAP rather than trash you life over a crushed up pill. I did some oxy's back when in Ontario they were powder not gel and that shit is not for me at all. No matter how great you feel, sitting there drooling on yourself is not fun for me.

With all respect, your life is so fucked up. I am coming here to help and not to criticize but you need to do something with those pills right now. Go to a methadone place and heal.

The first thing you should do is admit that you have a problem. Look at a mirror and say " I have a problem " and once you trully realized it then you will know what you have to do.

Regarding your girlfriend problem, she is just another problem and is blocking your way to a healthy life, I know getting out of a relationship is hard but you do need to realize that being with a person of that kind won't make you any good. If you dont want to have sex, then whatever, it's your personal decision and if she doesn't respect it then she needs to fuck off.

Editing as I have just read one of your previous posts: I know quitting an addiction is definetely hard, but trust me that if you have the will you will end up winning. I used to have an addiction to smoking, in order to quit, I first had to understand that smoking would get me no where. Pills, djweasel, won't get you anywhere.

I am 18 and cant understand the idiots that take drugs or smoke weed. Sorry for insulting but its the truth, can you understand your fucking up your life? And I swear to god that if I had a girlfriend similiar to yours I would kick her ass out of my home right now.

Quoting one of your posts "I'm just scared to go see a doctor because I don't want to be arrested and I don't want my family to know that I'm a drug user. I'm also sure that it's the opiate use, but I don't get great sleep and I do have a history of depression." Trust me that you will not be arrested as you are going to visit a doctor because you want to finish with this. Now with your family, I dont know you and I wouldnt be able to tell if you're a strong men (in a methaphorical way) or you're just a coward. I would choose the 2nd one to describe you in this situation. if you can't face the persons that supported you your entire life, who the heck will help you better them? (I know you can say a doctor or whatever, but I am reffering to emotional/support help). Regardless you have a history of depression, that wouldn't surprise me if you have an addiction, as depression is just one of the many effects of addictions.

Hopefully you take the time to read my post.

What do you get the prescriptions for? Are you in any pain? It's pretty much impossible to get BTH around me. I've only had it up north or shipped to me. It's all powder down here. It's not nearly as good and usually overpriced. It goes for $20-30 a point and about $150 for a gram.

Also if you're considering Suboxone or Methadone, don't underestimate it. They still get you smacked and you'll probably just end up getting hooked to them. I've been doing opiates for nearly 10 years and out of everything, subs and mdones are actually my favorite. I would even choose them over heroin most of the time. Not only are they really cheap, but they get you just about as high and last 8-12 hours. I try not to do too much heroin anymore just because I can't afford it. I have to load at least a point into a rig and could easily go through $100+ in a day. Where with snorting a quarter to a half of a sub will have me nodding all day and one pill is $5. The high isn't quite as good and your tolerance doubles about every 3-4 days though. They also block your opioid receptors, which keeps you from feeling other opiates for 1-3 days after your last dose.

You don't know what he wants. You obviously don't understand much about a drug addiction. Wanting to quit doesn't mean you're willing. And not every addict hits rock bottom with nowhere to turn, so don't assume he will.

He never said he snorted pills. I'm also not sure what you mean by that. Some pills are better snorted than taken orally as long as it doesn't have Acetaminophen it, not including the tamper-proof Oxycontins. Pills aren't better than heroin either. There isn't a huge difference between them and they are both still opiates, but heroin is still a stronger high, especially if injected. Admitting you have a drug problem doesn't mean anything. Realizing you have a problem doesn't necessarily make you willing to do something about it.

You need to realize that drugs affect all people differently. Some people don't like opiates for many reasons such as it makes them too tired, nauseous, hurts their stomach, etc. I don't get any of that and I personally think all opiates to be the best drug out there. The high is unbeatable for me. I barely get any negative side effects and there is no comedown. They also don't make you drool on yourself. I actually get more energy when I do them and can function just fine unless I do a high dose. Just because you had a bad experience doesn't mean it's like that for everyone. There is a reason why there are so many people addicted to painkillers and why they have more relapses than anything else. They are meant to make you feel good.

A lot of what you said didn't even relate to him. Don't give advice on something you know nothing about. It's impossible for you to fully understand such a strong addiction or why people choose to do drugs because you haven't experienced it. Admitting you have a problem might make a difference if you're addicted to video games, but it doesn't really mean shit when it comes to drugs. I'm not going to bother saying anything else, since you clearly don't know what the hell you're talking about. The fact you compared quitting cigarettes to painkillers shows enough right there.

Well listen, I read this and that's my point of view. And "Admitting you have a problem might make a difference if you're addicted to video games, but it doesn't really mean shit when it comes to drugs." Geez you're way wrong if its just for video games. Video games can be even worse than drugs and maybe I didnt experience it personally, I did smoke weed a couple of times because a dude who used to be my best friend was addicted to that shit and I believe that if he really wants to quit, and aswell have the will to do it, then he will eventually manage to quit.

Your point of view doesn't mean anything when you're wrong. You judge and look down on people who do something you have no knowledge of. Video games can be worse than drugs lol? You seriously don't know what you're talking about, so quit going on saying stuff that doesn't make any sense. You don't need to personally experience something to have at least a little common sense on the subject. Weed? Are you joking? Weed isn't at all comparable to other drugs. It's not even physically addicting and quitting is nothing because there are no serious withdrawals if any. Whereas with some drugs, the withdrawals are excruciating and could even kill you if not handled properly. There is no stronger addiction than drugs (not including weed lol). Even once you get past the withdrawals and beat the physical dependency to it, the psychological addiction is still there and will be for a long time. Getting clean is easy compared to actually staying clean. People who can beat a serious drug addiction and stay clean are very strong individuals. You have no idea. I'm just saying that admitting you have a problem with drugs doesn't mean much at all. A lot of addicts realize they have a problem, but that doesn't make them willing to do something about it. Yes, if someone seriously wants to quit anything, then they are definitely capable of doing so, but coming off drugs is a very difficult process and it takes a lot of time and effort to get your life back to normal.

Everyone wants sex now and then. If you don't satisfy you partner there could be problems in relationship. Don't try opiates rather I recommend testosterone supplement which boosts sexual performance.

I had a similar situation a couple years ago, except I wasn't taking opiates. Just the weed on a very regular basis. My sex drive hit the dirt, my ex-chick was completely frustrated and furious that I wouldn't fill her needs.

This may sound a little gay but I actually took Yoga classes. Surprisingly it helped me chill and get over my anxiety problems I had with work, social, relationships. Being you who works 7am-6pm, I'd assume you won't have time for classes but you can also partake this activity at home.
Alternatively, you could just go to your local swimming centre have some quiet time in spa/sauna/steam rooms. These personally are my ways of relieving my inner self from any problems I have.

Not sure if this is the same for all doctors but "Doctor-Patient confidentiality" is an implied rule at my Doc.

Tbh i think the best solution is to consult a doctor and try to stop taking all these drugs, especially try stop using them every single day as you mentioned.

    Long time no talk weasel...

This isn't the best forum to post about this topic because you will just get a bunch of garbage of advice such as the above comparison of video games and opiates... Thought I tip my hat off to people like Dimethyl who are giving sound advice.

I am not telling you to quit opiates but think about what you are saying bro.. If after an extended opiate abstinence, you feel the same way then the opiates are NOT the reason for your decreased sex drive (topic question answered..). But I don't think that is the case and you know it as well.

I have some recommendations for you but I rather not post it here so just message me on MSN and we can discuss.

Keep your head up and don't get discouraged!

That's my plan, I figure if I give it up for a while and see how it goes. I just was at the dr yesterday for acid reflux and I believe some of that is from the heroin use. I've noticed lately when I do too much it'll cause me to throw up but if I do just enough I end up being fine, but they did put me on a prilosec type drug.
