    My journey begins here...

    My Story

All journey starts with a story, you will probally mock me, but here is mine. All through junior primary school I was of an average weight, fast sprinter and keen motorcross rider. Grade 6 was the comming of a reasonably major accident which landed me in hospital for a few weeks, and put me off everything. I really turned my back on sport, and most of my "Dangerous" hobbies. I continued at school, and completed year 7 and 8, and partially grade 9 gaining weight at an alarming weight. From Year 6-9, I raised from 50kg, to 95kg, this was pure fat. Sick of insults, sick of mocks, I decided to make a change. And that change was nothing drastic at start, I just limited myself to what I would eat and do, but largely nothing changed. The summer of year 10 came around and I raced again, turning my back on four wheels I moved to two and now compete in go-karts and khanacross. This gave me motivation to thin out, and I dropped to 80kg through this. My new found fitness gave me motivation to create goals that were higher than this, and now(Grade 11) I have decided its time to become a healthier and fitter me. This year I started playing basketball, and have seen dramatic incrases in fitness.

    My Goals

Attain some sort of physicality, in the form of larger muscles, and toner muscle groups. Doing this via gym and exercise.
Attain a higher vertical leap, I am inches from dunking in basketball.
Have a social status for being a muscly type.
    Improve overall fitness and health.

    Progression Pictures

Will take one at gym this week.

    Other

I want your help, give me advice, and feedback and where is a good place to start for a person who has never walked into a gym, I am feeling rather nervous about it. All advice welcome and accepted.

it's good that you're starting off with a bit of fat. You need to be eating a lot of protein (150-200g a day) edit: to maintain your muscles during fat loss.

since you're just starting out do compound lifts bench press+Squats+Deadlifts. Squats will build your quads and allow you to jump higher as well ;)

Focus on building muscle (not loosing fat) for the next 2-3 months,
You need a good muscle base to cut down to if you want to look good.

lift heavy + get your protien/carbs/fats

    good luck on those dunks!

You have to first, train your complete body. After you gained some muscles (you will see/feel it) then you can decide how you want to move forward.

I feel you brother. I was walking in those shoes years ago as well. At first it's going to feel strange and your going to want to give up. Do a lot of cardio at first with minimum weight lifting. You need to shed off weight by running a lot. Remember results aren't instant, they take time but if you stick to it, you won't regret it.
