Frenzy's SFA moderation

I dont think that mods should be moderating forums that they do not know the rules to.

The SFA has very specific rules that dont allow unintellectual opinion or nonsense spam. in this way, it is much more strict than other areas of the forums.

Well, at least it used to be.

I came back to the forums after a while and started becoming active in the SFA.
Right off the bat i noticed that a lot of unintellectual opinions are being supported and allowed.

almost half the posts seem to be written by ppl who didnt even read the whole thread and just want their post count increased.

This leads me to my issue.
I started reporting these posts.

What you see above is frenzy allowing someone to pretty much spam the SFA with unintellectual jokes even when its reported.

This is why I do not think that frenzy should be moderating the SFA forums, as he is obviously unaware of it's rules.


fyi, i have since reported it again to another admin, but no infraction was given, the post was just deleted.

 

I see only 1 SFA report handled by her.

A bit excessive, and exaggerated, that you create a feedback thread like this for just 1 thread, rather than PM her it.

The post is debatable as well, he gave a quote, basically stating that even if the facts change, his opinion would stand. As you see in one of his posts, he was going on about how he was against facts. That post with the quote was just a perfect combination of how he was trying to express his thoughts.

 

Frenzy is rarely seen, no idea why she was promoted. Pretty sure globals can answer the reports.

 

I would have given him a warning at max.
Although he's just posting a quote, it stays with the topic and is debated in later posts. We've been letting a few things slide in SFA because of a drop of activity in the section, only small things like that post though.

The fact you'd make a thread over something as small as this tells me you have a problem with her. If you do, sort it out with her rather than make unnecessary threads like this, or even post on her feedback thread.

it frustrates me that the people responding arent even aware that the SFA has unique rules.

I brought it up in the irc and was told to make a feedback report.

I agree. The SFA is sliding into the muck and it seems to be lightly moderated now. A lot of the posts have become ad hominem attacks or just ignorance with little to no facts to back up anything they say. The rules shouldn't be flexible and if the post doesn't add intelligently to the discussion it should be removed and infracted.

Lots of threads that don't listen to this, including a recent one by an administrator.

seriously, in the SFA he is asking whether we "like" certain punishments.

 

sfa is just a shithole now and it just looks like no moderator has touched it in months.

 

I do agree the SFA section is slipping on discussions and things like that but that does not call for the rules to be bent, please let me know if im correct but thats a section that Sythe himself made and i dont think he'd like the rules altered.



Id have to agree im a fan of the SFA section and id have to say there really need to be a headcracking moderate in there because it is turning to shits. There really need to be someone who can go in there and put really a stop to things like (spam, off topic discussion) things like that just my opinion



I also read someone said something about Frenzy, tbh he/she is a very good moderate-Global might not see him around much but when he is im sure he handles business.

 

I don't see anything wrong when someone wants to back up his post with a quote that perfectly describes what he was trying to say? How can you call a quote a joke.

You disagree with 1 report against a mod, take it up through PM. Creating a thread just for this is just over the line, simply because you disagree with a mod.

However I do agree that the SFA is going down, it's been degrading.

 

Yes, the SFA is lacking compared to what it once was.. but blaming or pin pointing one report and one moderator is completely ridiculous.

Plus, if the post was deleted why are you so determined the user be infracted? It's not "spamming" your precious thread, let it drop.

 

To be honest he didnt really mod anything, if you want to complain about the SFA message sythe himself its his favorite section and im sure a load of people have complained about the SFA and some changes are deemed so ye just let it flow mate.

I actually had to report it twice for something to be done.

why should it matter if it was "spamming my precious thread"?
how does the specific thread he posted on in the SFA impact how I am supposed to react?

If shit like this goes on, the SFA will get even worse.

 

I agree with both but you also have to think if every post that was reported was infracted no one would want to be in the section. ...

I also agree the rules that are inplace should be followed and shouldnt be bent for anyone so therefore saying a stop should be make to the Random posting and spam things like that but not things that are referring to any type of argument or helping show reason.

 

If people are making un-related, unintellectual posts, they deserve to be infracted. However, if they aren't quite up to the standards, but leave room for discussion, or other openings on that topic, then that's valid. People who purely express opinions are doing wrong, as SFA is for the facts and figures, to prove methods and beliefs, not just why it could happen.
