EoC Combat Level Explanation

I was kinda confused when i first logged in, but i will try to explain it clearly..

How the new combat level system works:

HP (Constitution) + Prayer no longer affect combat levels

Yes this means someone can have 99 Prayer + Constitution at level 4.

The formula = x + Defence + 2
X = Highest of Attack Strength Range and Mage & Summoning

SO Pures aren't exactly ruined.. but Rune Pures etc will wreck 1 defence pures due to absorbtion on items etc.

Example.. Someone with 40 attack 50 Strength 70 range 82 Mage and 25 Summoning + 20 defence will have a Combat level off = 82 + 20 + 2 = 104

Most people knew this for months, it's been this way in the beta since last summer.

 

I haven't tried the EoC out yet, but to me there seems to be a stark contrast. Those who are generally opposed to change in RuneScape hated the EoC and have reacted by quitting or talking about quitting. Those who are in favor of change in RuneScape and don't mind seeing things taken in a different direction seem to LOVE it.

Also, I'm not sure if you knew this but (in certain ways) defense has been nerfed from what it was in the beta. Pures are not dead and anybody who says so is stupid.

BTW, 1 defense =/= the only pure.

 

Logged onto runescape to find my max zerk is no use now, as Barrows gloves are 70 def req, and any rune item, also rune/rockshell is 50 def.
